God's Organization? (for the JW Lurkers)

Luke 21:8 - He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them.

This scripture clearly says those claiming to be Christ, warning of the end approaching and that we shouldn't follow them. There is no escaping it, this describes many religions including the Watchtower Society.

1Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

With this one, we see the way to God is through Christ. Not through any other way. We have a personal relationship with God and Christ, we are answerable to THEM not MEN

John 17:3 - Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Does this Scripture say taking in knowledge of God's earthly organization? No.

John 3:16-19 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Through Christ to God again, any WBT Society mentioned? NO! (notice a pattern)

Mark 9:38-41 - "Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us." "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.

Here we have a person, seperate from Christ and his disciples but he was still to get a reward, why? because believing in God and Jesus and doing your best is enough, not some men who claim to be the channel to God.

Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Doesn't sound like you need a Kingdom Hall to me... 1 John 2:26-29 - I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. ooo so ya dont need a governing body?

Simple and straight forward, as I keep saying - you simply MUST read the bible for yourself to see the truth in it.

Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
This scripture was cited a lot to say that God was there at the book study and family studies and meetings for real service etc like it was a literal thing... But reading that now with a more objective mind I would read that and understand it totally differently. I'd read it to mean that when people get together with a wholesome goal/maybe religious/maybe community spirited then there will be a good spirit there. Not a phantom type spirit or holy spirit - just a good vibe will prevail. But I dont read the bible. Its done me enough harm - or shall I say the misinterpretations of it which were used to raise me - have done enough harm.

With this one, we see the way to God is through Christ. Not through any other way.

And what of the buddhists, zoroastrians, hindus, jews, sikhs and muslims? Apparently they have found their means to god through a "christ-alternative". While I dont doubt the good intentions behind your post, frankly, I see little difference between the above sentiment with the philosophy of the average JW.

Simply substitute the word "christ" with "watchtower organization" and the implications are identical: "Everyone who disagrees with MY brand of religion is wrong.....and doomed."

I disagree. Jesus didn't offer a brand of religion. He didn't have one to offer. He offered freedom from religion. His followers set up the religion, just like Buddha's followers set up religion based on his teachings.

    Spot on KW, excellent points.

This is a really good post KW13. You did raise very logical points.

This is indeed a logical, rational argument. And that is precisely why it doesn't get through to the average JW. They do not respond to logic and rationality.

One cannot underestimate the power that the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" doctrine has over the JWs. The "Faithful and Discreet Slave" can simply wipe away all of these scriptural arguments with a wave of the hand. Why? Because they are the "Faithful Slave". The "Faithful Slave" can interpret scriptures any way that they please. They can create any doctrine or ruling that they want, and can always play "scriptural hop-scotch" to prove their point. Anyone who raises an objection or disagrees, is marked by the elders, or purged from the congregation.

Anyone who believes that a committee of men in Brooklyn have sole Biblical interpretation powers, and have the right to enforce their own ideas, and consciences over millions of people are not operating out of a logical, rational mindset. They are operating out of indoctrination, ideology, and religious zealotry.
