That's right! I'm leaving work tired and stressed from a hard day and what do I find??? Someone backed into my new MINI Cooper and left a nasty dent and took off the black plastic rim that goes over the front passenger wheel.
Hell, even the passenger door won't open.
How the hell does one NOT see a bright red Mini????
How am I going to get the paint to match up? Will I need to repaint the whole car to get a proper match?
Luckily the "driver" of the other vehicle left their contact information and a small Dallas PD report with an accident number. What really pissed me off was, in the note the person left, they attempted to blaime ME for the collision!!! Hell, I wasn't even there!!! They said I was not in "an assigned parking space". What BS! When parking in downtown Dallas one buys a parking ticket for a lot and then parks wherever there is room... there are no assigned spaces, and no, I did not try to park in a space that was too small... there was actually enough room to drive a damn Hummer between my MINI and their vihicle.
Dammit... I was already having a very stressed week and then this crap happens.
Damn blasphemer hit my PARKED Mini Cooper!!!!!

The auto body shop will be able to get the exact match on your paint via the number coded on the inside door on the drivers side of the car.

Actually, if you call the dealer with the year, make and model of the car, they should be able to tell you the exact paint color (usually it's a number, I think...) Any major car painting place should have no problem getting the exact color for you then, and there shouldn't be a difference at all.
Even if there are no out-of-pocket expenses for you, it's a pain in the butt to get a car repaired! Call the repair place, get a rental, drop off, pick up.... blah blah blah. We're in the middle of it right now with one of our work vans.
Anyway, good luck with your repairs!!
