It didn't even hurt (Re: biopsy)

The doctor only wanted to use two sites to take the skin biopsies. I felt a needle prick and that was it! He used some sort of medical skin shaver to remove the lesions. He said that it can take up to TWO WEEKS to get the results! In the meantime, I've been started on Prednisone.

I guess I killed another myth! When your palms itch you're not getting money, you're getting a rash!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and concern!

I'm glad today's biopsy went well for you! That rash doesn't look like fun! What does the Prednisone do? I'm thinking help with the itching?

Two weeks can seem like an eternity if you're waiting, so post a lot and laugh to take your mind off of it. alt

    Mrs McD,

I'm so sorry but I had no clue you were going through this. Two weeks will seem like a long time to wait. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. At least the biopsy didn't hurt.

I hope you get good news!

I just read your last thread. So I will post here, what I would have posted there. I hope everything goes painless tomorrow. Thinking of you.

And now, for today. Yea!!!!! I am glad it didn't hurt. I sure am glad CSI doesn't take 2 weeks to get results! Now to wait for the results, and to get a cure.

Prednisone blocks the inflammatory process, and lets your body heal on its own. It's not a "real" medicine, like an antibiotic. It does make you more susceptible to illness, because it lowers your immunity,.....because it blocks the inflammatory process.

After you have been very sick, with for example an auto-immune disease, and start taking Prednisone, withing a day or 2, you feel like you could run a marathon. You know in your heart, that you can't, but your mind says you CAN! I always have grandiose ideas, when I take it. Usually I end up in bed again because I pushed myself too hard, before my body was ready.

So, MsMcDucket, take it easy. And don't eat too much. Your body also doesn't know you have eaten, or are full. I eat, and eat, and eat!!! I would go to bed, and think about what I was going to eat for breakfast.
