How Come Brooklyn Never Saw This One Coming?
by Englishman inbooks and magazines all full of dire warnings..stay away from the world..don't have sex outside of marriage..armageddon is just around the corner..avoid worldly associations..look out for this, look out for that.
the list goes on and on and on.. yet the wtbts predictors of doom and gloom department never, ever, in their worst nightmares, ever saw what it was that would prove to be their nemesis.. that ex-witnesses, the majority of them disfellowshipped and, therefore, supposedly gagged and without a voice, would find a way to communicate with one another via the internet.. i wonder if the fact that they brought this upon themselves is clear to them?
the irony is astonishing.

What do you think about this?
by writerpen injust a thought that i would like to get other opinions about.
i've always wondered this: one man and one woman (adam and eve) living in perfect conditions with only one temptation - to refrain from eating from a stupid tree.
they failed that simple test.

Saddam has key to Detroit & "Maxim"-ize the troops
by Uzzah inthese stories qualify as the "strange but true" articles of the day.... i am not posting this to fan flames but found the two stories interesting and both raised an eyebrow but in different ways.... a gift worth a foot in the mouth .
this is one gift the city of detroit may never be able to live down.
back in 1980, when times were much different than they are now and the u.s. was on a completely different footing with a certain despotic middle eastern leader, saddam hussein was given the key to the motor city.

"Bush fiddles with economy while Baghdad burns"
by Simon inan interesting article which somewhat reflects my own take on what i see happening.
please note that this does not put any judgement on whether i think it is a good thing or not so please do not "shoot the messenger".. whether you believe or accept the points or not it is an interesting read.
i personally think that the action bush has taken in the last few years has done more harm to the usa than it's enemies ever could which is surely a crime?..

Thoughts on Iraq FROM Iraqis now....
by Xander infrom various sources.. john donovan of abcnews.com reports:traveling unescorted into safwan today, i got a far different picture.
rather than affection and appreciation, i saw a lot of hostility toward the coalition forces, the united states and president bush.
some were even directed towards the media.

Michael Moore's actual quote
by Xander injust thought i'd post this so everyone can see the quote that got him 'booed off the stage' and so horribly offended so many people:whoa.
on behalf of our producers kathleen glynn and michael donovan from canada, i'd like to thank the academy for this.
i have invited my fellow documentary nominees on the stage with us, and we would like to they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction.
