The most strangest sounds I ever heard ........
by TheOldHippie ini had an experience last night which was the strangest thing i have heard / felt for years ............. i had shared a bottle of white wine with my wife (i know that "tunes down" the whole thing, but man!
half a bottle of wine produces nothing like that ....), she went upstairs to go to bed, it was 10:45 at night, and i let the dog out in the garden for her usual you-know-what.
25 metres away is a small road, there are houses around, and 50 metres down to my left another small road departs.. i had been out 10 seconds, when suddenly very loud noices were all around, like - please don't laugh - santa claus with his sleigh came down the road, like sleigh bells sort of, but much louder and more distinct.

Blood cards - before screaming too loudly,
by TheOldHippie inkeep in mind that the blood cards are produced and circulated in all other countries worldwide.
if they are not so in the us, please do not scream too loudly that major changes are occuring etc., because this has got to be some local us thing, if it is true what you say that they are not renewed in the us.

To Norm: Nazi camp numbers
by TheOldHippie inplease forgive me, norm, but i am not going to write about the number of casualties during wwii, but about the number of witnesses before and after the war, a question you raised, too.
why not the camp question?
because, i due to education and ancestry speak/read/write german fluently, and take a big interest in this question.

To Norm: Nazi camp numbers
by TheOldHippie ini just post this as a new one, as perhaps you are too busy to keep track of replies to older threads of yours:.
i think most of the dissimilarities /"problems" as to the concentration camps figures you give, or more correctly, the watchtower literature gives, is due to the perspective from which it is seen, what the articles are really about.
when you quote from the 1974 yearbook, that article deals with the history of the german witnesses.

Resignation - not that it matters at all, but ....
by TheOldHippie ini just wanted those kind-hearted, those gentle, those friendly ones of you to know that i wrote my letter of resignation as an elder yesterday, after having served in that capasity for 24 years.. those wishing to call me or any society "bastard", "sucker", "braindead" or anything, as they have before, i would ask please to refrain from that.
other comments would be welcome.. somehow, it is the armstrong quote about "one small step for man, one giant leap for humankind" (approximately) the other way around, "one giant leap for (a) man, one hardly noticeable step for humankind".. ok, that was that.

Nobel Peace Price Year 2001
by TheOldHippie inthe nobel peace price for the year 2001 was given with one half to the united nations organization and the other half to its general secretary kofi annan.. too bad the watchtower is not associated with the uno for example thru ngo and dpi - if they were, they would have received part of the glory ..................... now how's that for a timing?

Hey, You Masters of War
by TheOldHippie inin these days of the great cowboys preparing for the man-hunt, here are some lines telling what the mediterranean/european sentiments are, as published by a political commentator.
i just quote them to show the us-europe gap:.
un minuto de silencio... .

A modest "Hello, everybody!"
by TheOldHippie inwitnesses.net's and (a couple of years ago) hourglass2's the old hippie modestly says "hello" and enters if not the building then at least the area.
live in europe, am - (i am sorry to say) - a countryman of the unholy trinity consisting of kent, jan h. and norm, and thus well updated with the practises of the observer-thing.
do not support the majority of what they think or do.
