Thankful for my babies
by BeautifulMind ini hope everyone is having a good day/night.
so i was just reflecting on how happy i am to have my babies, despite the orgs.
not so subtle requests that married couples not have babies in order to further serve the org.

This was one of the things that always got to me about not having babies. I felt I was on this earth to be a mother and the bible says children are a gift. Never does the bible state that if u can make room for it don't have children the way that it does say not to get married. Yet the Borg promotes not having kids. This issue def helped wake me up. I'm thankful for my rebellious ways, lol and so thankful to have my babies and to be free to raise them to be independent thinkers. -

I recently left and my children are very young but my ex-husband still takes them to meetings . I am allowing this for now. I have told each of my children that when they are adults they can decide if they want to get baptized and become witnesses or not but that they can only make that decision when they are adults out of school. They also are closer to me than they are at their dad so I am hopeful that because of our bond not because of my bad mouthing of the religion they will choose not to live that life . Stay positive enjoy your time with your children and plan small seeds of doubt as the years go on . -

I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Wen I was 8 my mother pressured me to get baptized. Yes, 8!!!! Anyways as I was too young to know what I was doing I failed one question on my baptism questions. The one on what it means to be dedicated. I literally didn't know what it meant. I just sat there perplexed and couldn't think of a legit way to explain it so the elders told my parents I needed to wait. I did wait until I was 9 and my mother made sure I knew all the answers. Please do poorly on the questions, DO NOT GET BAPTIZED! -

So , how "worldly" did you get?
by greenhornet ini even hate to use that word worldly tm.. any way i'm probably the worst.. 1 when the jw s come to my door i say i'm not interested .
2 i have gone to many churches and volunteered.. 3 i shredded all my jw books and magazines out in the woods.. 4 had the mormon elders over and studied with them.. 5 tried pot (its legal here).
6 open carry my fire arm every where (legal here also).

I am still considered a jw but I hardly go to meetings in the past few months and I am not raising my kids as jws anymore. I let my kids celebrate holidays at school since november, I celebrated xmas and v day and birthdays and I am sexually active. No drugs. I curse. That's not so bad right? I feel great with my life. I am truly happy. -

A fresh start
by FormerlySandL inafter the worst introduction i could ever make on the forum i would like to reintroduce myself and make a fresh start on the forum and hopefully over time i will be able to redeem myself.
i have changed my user name which was over dramatic and ridiculous in the cold light of day but for transparency and to show i am not trying to hide anything i have adapted the original name and it now has a more positive feel.
after reading a lot of posts on this forum i am feeling more optimistic about my future.

Welcome!! I missed all the drama since I don't log on as often as I would like to. Isnt it amazing how as long as u conform to jws standards and opinions u are accepted. I hope u didn't marry. I was married to a brother with mental illness for 12 years. I wanted to break off the engagement but was told I couldn't. This religion sickens me and I'm so thankful to spare my children. Make a new circle of friends. Could u join a gym or athletic club. I have made the best friends ever at my local gym. Or coworkers? U def need a support system and of course u have members in this site. This site helped me keep sane wen I first discovered ttat. U will be fine. U have the best years of ur life ahead of u bc u have allowed urself to stop being brainwashed.
