Thoughts and Opinions on the VAA?
by arko_n9ne inas i've posted multiple times before, i am new to many of the aspects of wts scandals so a couple weeks ago, i was on youtube and heard of a group concept from tim kilgore called the vaa (vast apostate army).. personally, i like the concept of former witnesses and anti-watchtower proponents uniting to stand against the wrong doings of the organization.
i would like their rally in a few years to succeed.
if things look promising enough, i more than likely will go.. but honestly, i don't know much about the vaa, and since it's not a concept with that "new car smell" i imagine people have more infor to offer.. i saw on older posts that witnesses are not fans of the idea of anyone banding together en masse against them, as they go to the lengths of calling the vaa a terrorist organization (though no acts of violence or tyranny have been committed or threatened).. so if anyone can offer insight into this group, it would help a man know if it's a group worth rallying with.. .

The VAA community on FB has been a huge support to me in helping me to empower myself as well as others. With the help of this site and the VAA, I don't feel ashamed and frightened anymore about standing up to the Tower. I want others who have left to feel the same way. We all have different tactics but we all work for the same team, helping those who are captives in this horrible cult to break free and live their lives!

I never really had been through a time when a loved one needed blood until last weekend. My mother, who is not a JW (thank god), was feeling very sick. She could not catch her breath and could not stand or walk. Just walking to the kitchen or the bathroom was a very hard task. She is only 58 and had not a problem until now. She had went to the doctor 3 times within the week and they couldn't figure out what the problem was, but by the end of the week she had to be ambulanced to the E.R. in our town then transferred to another hospital 60 miles away. She was admitted to the ICU. She was given 8 units of blood right away and if she didn't get it she would of died. They said that a persons normal blood count is usually at 40 but her was at an 11. Also they said that they had never seen a person with that low blood count and live. The Doctors found that she has a rare condition called G.A.V.E. that caused her to bleed internally. It is crazy but up until now I was still opposed to the blood issue and now after all of that I have a whole new perspective on it.

I am exploring a class action lawsuit against the WTS at the moment. I have been in touch with other attorneys on this matter and at the moment I haven't found anyone to take the case just yet. I want to pursue a class action lawsuit against the WTS. With the aid of the 7/15/11 Watchtower among other publications that they have been putting out it seems to me we may have of a chance. I have had discussions with two seprate attorney's in my area and they think this case has merit but because of my location it would be better to take this to a lawyer in a bigger city. They would be better equipped to handle this sort of case. I realize that this has been tried before in the past. Even though the WTS hides behind their first emendment rights and/or ecclessiatical ammunity wouldn't you think that they make that null and void with publishing oppinionated hate talk to target exmembers?

I have found a lawyer for libel and look what I found on his sight. I though this might be of intrest and I think I may have a case. This is the Montana law for libel and slander.
Defamation – Slander and Libel
Defamation and invasion of privacy in Montana
“To spread suspicion, to invent calumnies, to propagate scandal, requires neither labour nor courage. It is easy for the author of a lie, however malignant, to escape detection, and infamy needs very little industry to assist its circulation.”
– Samuel Johnson: Rambler #183 (December 17, 1751)
What is defamation?
“Defamation” is either libel or slander. M.C.A. 27–1–801. Written words and pictures are considered “libelous,” while spoken words are called “slander.” Generally, defamatory radio and television broadcasts are considered to be libel, rather than slander. Libel or slander is said to have occurred when it is “published,” that is, when it is printed, or said.
“Libel” is a false and unprivileged publication by writing, printing, picture, effigy, “or other fixed representation to the eye” that:
1. exposes a person to hatred, contempt, ridicule or obloquy; or
2. causes him to be shunned or avoided; or
3. has a tendency to injure him in his occupation. M.C.A. 27–1–802.
"Slander" is a false and unprivileged publication – other than libel – that:
1. charges a person with crime, or with having been indicted, convicted, or punished for crime; or
2. imputes in him the present existence of an infectious, contagious, or loathsome disease; or
3. tends directly to injure him in respect to his office, profession, trade, or business, either by imputing to him general disqualification in those respects which the office or other occupation peculiarly requires or by imputing something with reference to his office, profession, trade, or business that has a natural tendency to lessen its profit; or
4. imputes to him impotence or want of chastity; or
5. by natural consequence causes actual damage. M.C.A. 27–1–803.
A libel or a slander is committed every time the false statement is repeated by its original maker or by another person, even though that person is repeating the defamatory statement accurately. Multiple copies of a publication containing a defamatory statement do not create multiple publications of the defamatory statement, because the entire edition of a periodical, book, broadcast, or other similar publication is treated as a single publication.

Sorry everyone, I wasn't able to get back to my thread due to my computer acting up. Thank you for all your words of advice, and encouragement.
I do want to leave but I want to make it so difficult for them, I will look into getting an attorney. The other reason for an attorney is the other day I was in the grocery store and I ran into a guy who works there. He said that a witness from my congregation had slandered me to him about my business. It was flat out lies! I reassured him that the stories that she had told were not true. I noticed that my business had took a slight hit but the thing I have going for me is that this is a small town/community and the majority of people that know me have known me my whole life and know that I am an honest person. She doesn't have the credibilty that I have. Also my sister in law who is a witness is the one I know pushing the elders in this direction. She totally has it out for me and has for the last 3 years. About a month ago, she had approached some about sisters in our KH in the same grocery store telling them not to talk to me because I am an apostate. They then come to my house or call and tell me.
