New Insights on History of Jesus
by Amazing inlast year on h20 much was discussed about whether jesus was a historical person.
it was brought out that no mention of jesus is ever made outside the works of christians (presuming that all christian historians are biased) except for the the writings of roman historian, flavius josephus.
and, even the brief mentioin of jesus in josephus works are challenged by some as being spurious addtions to some manuscripts.

The Watchtower and the Masons
by ozziepost inthe latest edition of the free in christ ministries journal contains a very interesting article entitled the watchtower and masons.. drawing upon material from the book the watchtower & the masons by fritz springmeier, it gives the following parallels between the things that c t russell believed and those taught by the masons:.
* both believe jehovah is the most important word being the basis of their dogma, and the name of their god.
* both believe god yielded power to a lesser god.

So Who's An Evil Slave Then?
by Englishman inin my teenage years, my father elected to serve where the need is great.
the end result was that we upped roots and moved to yeovil in deepest, darkest somerset, cider-drinkin country where most of the locals were yokels.. the tiny congregation, about 30 or so, met in a hired 2 storey hall on the edge of town, a building that had been used by the jw s for many, many years.
the 2 storey building shared toilet facilities on the ground floor.. the first day that we attended a meeting in yeovil was strange to say the least!

Christ's Manifestation and Kingdom - 1st Century?
by dreamer inwhilst reading 2nd timothy i noticed that chapter 4:1-8 seem to suggest that the early christian church believed that christ was manifest and in his kingdom:.
i solemnly charge you before god and christ jesus, who is destined to judge the living and the dead, and by his manifestation and his kingdom.. .
this implies that he is still to judge, but that he is manifest and that his kiongdom is established.

Need your help with a little research!!!
by cecil ini have found something interesting in the danish new world translation of the holy scriptures.
and i would like to know, how the other nw-translations render the same verse.. it's the "famous" words in jeremiah 29:10, which in the nwt's rendering usually (at least as far as i know) seem to depict and strengthen the seventy years as a period of captivity, instead of servitude under babylonian supremacy!.

A "revelation" of the Son of God
by kes152 ingod, who long ago on many times and in many manners spoke to his people our forefathers by the mouth of his prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by the mouth of his son, whom he has made heir of all things and on account of whom he composed the ages.. he is the effulgence of his actual glory and the exact imprint of his very substance and he is sustaining all things by his word of power and through himself he made a purification of our sins and has sat down at the right hand of the majesty in lofty places.. he has become so much greater than all the angels to the extent that he has inherited a name much more excellent than theirs.. for to which angel has he ever said:.
"you are my son,.
indeed, angels are not 'sons' for if they were ..... then to which angel has he ever said "you are my son, this day i have begotten you?
