Do You Accept ALL Of The Bible As Being 100% Truth?
by minimus indo you believe the bible is unfallible, unerring and totally accurate?.
do you believe the bible is a "good book" with much good about it but not something that should be totally believed?.
do you not believe in the bible at all as being "god's word"?.

JWs thinking 'Satan is out to get me!'
by KingAgag ini met a jw who said he hated driving to the kh because satan always changed the traffic lights to red so that he'd be late.
this is so absurd, showing how paranoid some of them are.
what similar, equally retarded, reasoning have you come across?

Oh this is definitely not just a JW thing. I remember after hurricane Katrina, there were people all over the tv saying that the hurricane was from Satan, and they were just going to trust god to fix their destroyed lives.

"end of this system of things", "new system"...
what the heck does that term mean anyways? I mean it sounds like you are doing math or something. I guess saying "end of the world" and "new world" was too depressing for them. But "system of things" when said by itself really does not make you think of paradise...

Do you believe God has one true organization on earth?
by 2pink infor those who believe in god, do you believe he has one true organization on earth?
word of our intended slow fade has abruptly become a public knowledge.
my husband was talking to his sister on the phone today, breaking the news to her and one thing she kept bringing up was that god has to have an organization on earth.

by minimus inwhat connection do you make?.

I think of murderers, because thanks to them and their blood issue...I no longer have my grandma.
I think of pedophiles because my best friend was continuously molested by her brother through our teenage years and the elders hid it.
And I think of my poor sister and how messed up her life is because she never learned to care for herself and is so scared of living due to that religion.

What do you feel God wants you to do at this moment in time?
by EndofMysteries inopen question, please list scriptures that give you that direction or what you base your answer upon.
i know there are so many different viewpoints on this forum, it will be interesting for all to see them and what scriptures or reasoning they are based on.. some examples are,.
do you feel only one needs to have love, faith in jesus, and those basics and that is what you must proclaim.. do you feel true knowledge must be taught to all, and as much as is known.

When I pray...I am the only one listening, therefore I must be god (can't remember who said that but I love that quote).
And right now I want to finish my whiskey and go to bed.

Being raised a JW, I have absolutely no guidelines as far as Christmas goes. I started celebrating as soon as I DA'd myself...which is now ten years ago. So as someone on here brought up awhile back...I know all the Christmas traditions I start with my children and will be passed on, started with me! Which is pretty neat to think about.
We always take a drive the week before Christmas and go see all the neat light displays in the area. I take my children to the local Christmas parade. And Christmas Eve we always spend at my best friend's house, where all of our friends (who are basically orphans in the family department) gather for Christmas Eve dinner. And then they come home and open one present before going to bed.
But this year, I was discussing with my oldest daughter about trying something new. Picking a country off the map and do research as to how they celebrate Christmas in that country. And then Christmas Eve at our gathering, make a dish from that country's traditional Christmas foods...and tell how they celebrate in that country. She thought it was a really neat idea, as did my friends. So I think we will be adding it to our traditions.
What traditions do you guys have?

Written Reviews...what did you really do during them?
by xeracia inremember these silly tests they make you take?
i don't remember how often they were, but thinking back on them, boy does it seem silly!
sitting there for half an hour trying to remember stupid stuff as if you are in school.

Wow. I had no idea they changed it to an oral review. When did that happen? Sounds just as dreadfully dumb as the written review of course. You're right...my kids have no idea how good they have it.
