None of the Miracles ever "came into the truth" in my area.
There was a Welcome and a Plummer though, and a couple of Hopes and Paines.
A joke went around that if a Miracle got baptized and Welcome married him she'd be Welcome Beloved Miracle!

when i found this site i considered myself a fader with family still in the cult.
i thought that i should limit personal information so that any lurking scumbag wts reps couldn't track me and jeopardize the relationships i walk on eggshells to maintain with my family.
but something happened last night that caused me to suddenly not give a rats anal orifice what jw's think.. i got called 'daddy'.. my wife and i went through the court system in the early 90's to get her 2nd cousin who was 11 at the time, out of protective services (which was a group home for abused children).
I'd love to post some pics of her but I'll have to wait until after the court declares us her legal guardians later this month.
You might want to reconsider posting pictures. Internet memory is loooooooong. Right now the little girl is probably not concerned about what has transpired but when she's older she might be.
What you and your wife have done for these children is praiseworthy for sure. Best wishes to you!
he was one of the chiefs at the australian bethel during the late 70's early 80's.
i used to enjoy his talks at assemblies - he had something special about him.
he was dfd (supposedly for apostasy).
There still was a Madzay Color Graphics about 6 years ago in the greater Cleveland area. It was run by a Gary Madzay, I think.
when rutherford was dying, he called three of his closest"friends" by his side.
fred franz, nathan knorr, and heyden covington.
he put his hands on their heads and told them to "always stick together.
It is my understanding that covi had a health problem that made him seem drunk? Or is this a JW urban legend?
There was a small blurb in Watching The World years ago about a man removed from a plane for being "drunk" when he wasn't. The paragraph said that he had a digestive disorder and didn't process carbs correctly and that eating certain foods could actually make him "drunk".
I think that this was new information to WT. If something like this had been the case with Covington it would have come out years ago.
Opinion: Urban Legend.
i was asked to post this by a paranoid jwder.
i'm an elder and have stated as much on this board.
call me paranoid, but i'd rather not stick my head up and say "hey bethel monitors, come after this guy!
I wonder about WT sometimes!
Years ago they had a small book entitled "Is The Bible Really The Word of God?". Now they have an Awake! cover that reads "Can You Trust The Bible?"
Does WT ever come right out and SAY that the Bible is the Word of God or do they just insinuate so that later they can say "we never stated..." and get off whatever hook they may be on at the time?
playing golf today with my sister she tells her bosses son - he is 28 yrs old.
he awoke one morning last week with an erection.
not uncommon among those in that age bracket.
Anyone ever hear of such a thing?
Nope.
This is how I found out: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/14/11527/1.ashx
(faith lost in the scripture).
Hello,
You may be NotSoMuch but that's enough to make it through. Don't lose faith! Don't lose heart!
God will not test you beyond what you can bear. He will make a way out for you just as the rest of that verse says. For your part, you
1. Have to see "the way out"
2. Have to be willing to take it
Sometimes it takes a lot of searching and thinking to see "the way out" being provided by God. Then there's the matter of willingness: sometimes it means letting go of just about everything we have in order to do things God's way.
Don't be afraid. Don't give up and don't give in, as someone I respected used to say.
Hoping you'll stay on the path,
AnneB
back in the late 80's and early 90's in southern california, some where near la.
there was a school for jehovah's witness kids, does anyone remember what it was called
There was a "witness school" in Reseda, just off Sherman Way west of Reseda Blvd. I can't remember the name of the side street but there was a McDonalds across the street on the corner. The story I was told was that a brother canvassed the state of California collecting funds to open a chain of private witness schools...and then disappeared. Some schools never opened, some were opened by parents and operated independently, as this one was. The teachers had to be witnesses in good standing with adequate hours per month in field service. They checked...so much for the confidentiality of KH records! The students were supposed to be baptized witnesses or in good standing. This was in the days before the unbaptized publisher category existed. Basically if one of the parents met their requirement the student was admitted. Lessons were a joke. Teacher qualifications were non-existent other than they be JW's. Students were usually enrolled after they caused trouble in a public school.
The school didn't have an official name as far as I am aware. People just called it Kingdom School but didn't even use that name very often. The state of CA maintains a list of all private schools, by counties, somewhere on its website. They have listings even for closed schools. You might find more detailed information there if you try searching the list by county then city, etc.
The woman who operated the school was named Barbara Dupaquier. She turned the daily maintenance of the school over to her daughter the last few years. I don't remember the daughter's name.
I've been away from that area for many years. I don't remember much about the school beyond what I've mentioned.
the following is a page out of an application for bethel service.

26. Do you or any members of YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY have a history of NERVOUS or EMOTIONAL DISORDERS?
(e.g. major depression, panic attacks, chemical imbalance, paranoia, schizophrenia, attempted suicide) ( )Yes ( )No
If yes, explain:
They want to know about the applicant and the family as well? That's asking a lot! If the family are JW's do you suppose the information filters back to their congregation? If the family are not JW's would they really want WT to have this information on file?
They're not asking as health professionals, simply as HR representatives. Is this even legal?
