I was df'd for cybersex.
They, in my opinion, had to really dig deep to do it, but they did.
I knew my goose was cooked the moment I stepped into that room!
if they elders found out that a brother or a sister had a cybersex affaire outside of their marriage what would be the concequence for this.
could that be df?.
would it be seen as uncleaness or porneia?.

i know that all religions have their flaws, so do you agree that witnesses should call themselves christians or are they 'too un-christian'?.
the baptism, i think proves its different, they are baptized into an organization, that forms part of the questions...agreeing that the society is god's earthly representation.. personally i feel they are not christians.
My current thinking of being Christian is believing that Jesus' death covers your sins, and that you accept His grace and love, thus being born again and then you become filled with the holy spirit and your life becomes filled with the fruitages of the spirit.
It is my feeling that jws believe that Jesus' death CAN cover their sins, but they do not necessarily feel that His death HAS covered their sins, therefore guilt and works righteousness.
From my own personal experience, I do not feel that they have experienced His grace and love and do NOT have a sense of being saved. Therefore, they are NOT born again, do not have the holy spirit and do not live a life filled with the fruitages of the spirit, but try to MANIFEST it and COAX it by intentionally manipulating it to SEEM righteous rather than allowing it to just happen because of the grace you experience by being born again.
So, in conclusion, I think that they have all the ingredients TO BE Christian, but they fall short of it's intent and blessing because they fail to accept Jesus' grace and love. Thus, at this time, I do not feel that the majority of them are Christian.
They come sooo close, but the society has taken that away from them giving it to only a select group of 'annointed ones'. They thus fail to apply the majority of the Christian Scriptures to themselves personally and thus fail to become truly Christian.
That's my two cents worth. Still pondering that thought as I have 3 children whom I love greatly who are still practicing jws.
have you ever thought of all those creepy files that the elders keep on wrongdoing?
how strange to have your sins written down and kept in a file somewhere.
do they ever dispose of them?
I believe I read in Franz's book that even after you are dead the society keeps them for at least two years!
How bizarre to contemplate!

first of all want to thank you all for informing me of the good the bad and smurfly about jws - i was so stoked when these two sister's knocked on my door.
i apologise now - i was a smug git - in fairness they conducted themselves impeccably in the face of me.
this is how it went (paraphrased to highlight 'clever' bits i said and downplay swathes of conversation when i said silly things.
My quick uneducated thought about Mormons and any other group is this:
You only need Jesus for salvation. That's all He states. jw's and (I believe) mormons feel that you need more than Jesus for salvation.
Once you begin to add membership or other ideologies to the salvation equation you begin to be a follower of MAN; thus enslaved and a victim of wolves amongst the sheep.
two months ago, i wrote the wbts and requested a 'what does the bible really teach'.
well it hasn't shown up.
but at the same time, i ordered a "what does the bible really teach' from the united church of god.
My parents got INTO the truth through the Church of God. My mother liked what they had to say. They did not claim to be 'the true church'. They pointed out things that would let you know who they were and my mother decided that it was the jw's who fit the description.
As I was searching religions, the Church of God sounded good to me because so many of their beliefs were familiar to me. Then I read their website and some of their teachings scared me and made me think they had missed the path too!
They do not give Christian Freedom and I am TOTALLY looking for freedom in worship. If you do not have freedom, you do not have Christ and have become a follower of man.
That is my creed.
i have found an 111 page report written about jf rutherford.. however, it is written in italian!.
if anyone is interested, i can attempt to translate portions of it into english using babel fish and post what is produced here.. --vm44
I remember having Br. S. Lett as our Circuit Overseer in Wisconsin. I like him a lot. When you first saw him speak it made you want to crack up laughing. His whole face was so animated like a Disney character! It was hillarious.
The rest of the crew looks a little scary and not the kind of people you would want to FOLLOW! They appear to be a little removed from reality!
if you're not become an atheist or non-christian then please answer where are you attending for fellowship now?
i go to an online fellowship http://groups.yahoo.com/group/christianwitnesses/ .
p.s. - on iTunes I have also enjoyed very much The God Journey.
They are 'opposed' to organized religion while maintaining their relationship with Jesus. They are funny and have a very interesting slant to things. They are not a religious sermon, but they take on religious subjects with much laughter.

I started listening to MANY different religious sermons on my ipod. I distinguished what I thought was truth, sincerity, and love.
I came to REALLY enjoy going to 2 churches in town now. I go to one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. I LOVE them!!!
You can hear their podcasts on iTunes or from their websites. They are: cornwallchurch.com and ctkbellingham.com . Both churches are in the city of Bellingham, WA USA and can be found online or on iTunes.
I feel they are genuine, Christ-like, and very loving, positive, NORMAL people. I have been benefited greatly by it and I feel it has really brought me into a close personal relationship with Jesus.
It may feel odd at first, but listen to it and challenge it against the Bible. I feel it is very postive and people friendly.
Another podcast I have really enjoyed is from Seattle WA. It is Marshill Church with Mark Driscal as Pastor. They too can be found at their websites or on iTunes.
Mark Driscal is very liberal, yet VERY Biblical. It makes SO much sense to me.
I have LOVED these! My favorite is Marshill, then Christ the King in Bellingham, WA, then Cornwall Church in Bellingham, WA.
Gotta love'em!
