Prince had enough fentanyl in his system to kill a horse or two
by Wild_Thing inhow can someone purposely take that much fentanyl and it still be considered an "accidental overdose"?
i understand that they call it that because they don't think he was purposely trying to kill himself, but that would be like someone firing a fully loaded gun at their head and saying they were playing russian roulette.. his blood had 67.8 micrograms per liter.
deaths have been documented in people with blood levels ranging from three to 58 micrograms per liter.

Watchtower History Gem: I Found When Maria Got Her Teaching Certificate
by Wild_Thing ini consider myself an amateur watchtower history buff.
i have always read that maria frances ackley russell, charles taze russell's first and only wife, went to a teacher training college and was a teacher for a number of years before marrying russell.
but, i have never seen proof that she truly did finish college and became a certified teacher.

Calling All Watchtower Historians ... What was the V.F.V.?
by Wild_Thing inin the may 27, 1942 edition of the consolation, the watchtower society devoted several pages to the controversy surrounding the burial of joseph rutherford.
in several sections, they write about "the opposition" in vague terms without much specificity as to who these other groups of people were who were supposedly persecuting them.
one section refers to a group called v.f.v.

When did Watchtower writings start becoming anonymous?
by Wild_Thing ini think most people know that authorship was credited in the old watchtower literature, but at some point everything became anonymous.
i still do not know exactly when this started, but i found this in charles taze russell's last will and testament.
his will was not honored in other respects, so i doubt they would have honored this request.

What kind of data does the Watchtower keep on former members?
by Wild_Thing infrom this link: http://www.watchtowerwayback.org/jw-wb/english/internal%20documents/elders/instructions%20for%20reporting%20disfellowshippings%20or%20disassociations%20(s-77%20s-79).pdf.
this is part of one the society's forms used from 1992. the paragraph that says, "if the individual is reinstated (or dies), the secretary should fill in the date and send it to the society in the special blue envelope" caught me off guard.
or dies??

Tattoos?
by Wild_Thing inif seems to be quite fashionable nowadays for ex-jws to get a tattoo or a series of tattoos to symbolize either their time spent in the watchtower or their escape, and i kind of don't get it.
i don't understand why someone would want a constant reminder on their body of such a horrible period in their life.
on another forum, one woman shared that she was getting 25 bees tattooed all over her body to represent the 25 years she spent in the org.

Has the Governing Body EVER apologized for anything?
by Wild_Thing ingeoffrey jackson testified to the arc that the governing body has apologized for things in the past, so an apology to sexual abuse victims is "perceivable".
what has the governing body ever apologized for?.
22 q. just on that point, mr jackson, has the governing body23 considered apologising to survivors of child sexual abuse24 at the hands of elders within the organisation?25 a. i haven't been in any discussions with regard to that.26 27 q. is that something that you foresee might happen ‐ in 28 other words, that an apology at least be considered?29 a. the governing body has apologised on other matters, so30 for me to say ‐ i can't speak collectively for everybody, 31 but we have apologised on things in the past, in other32 areas, so it is perceivable.. .
