Forgiving the Governing Body
by Derrick inas a baptized jehovah's witness, i have been tested over the years by those very ones who claim they are entrusted with my soul.
i'll digress a moment to state that one strong theory that has deeply troubled me over the years, centers around their transformation over a century into a caricaturistic representation of christendom.
(refer definition of caricature at http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=caricature for clarification.).

WELL WORTH READING: JW's + 144,000
by stevieb1 infound this material on an yahoo egroups site on greek theology on which quite a number of witness apologists contribute.
there is quite a bit of interesting stuff on here, but here is a worthwhile comment made on the 144,000 as they relate to the "fds class" and jw's since 1879. establishes from purely mathematical point of view that the 144,000 cannot be a literal but figurative.

The Wachtower Society MUST NOT Exalt Itself
by stevieb1 inread 1 corinthians 1:5-11. therein you will see that christ is the true foundation for the christian, and that paul/apollos (perhaps we could substitute the watchtower society here) are only those who have introduced us to that foundation.
once that foundation is laid the mature christian should not be relying on the teachings of those men for direction but should be building on the foundation by relying on jehovah's direction.
the following quote from a 1984 watchtower article makes interesting reading.. .

WTS involvement with politics/UN exaggerated?
by troubled ini've seen the threads on the wts' involvement with cesnur, swaggert, and the un.
since then, i've done additional research on the internet, including accessing the un's webiste and searching for "watchtower" and "jehovah's witnesses.
" and i am concerned that many of the posts on this website grossly overexaggerate the degree of the wts's involvement and its purpose.. in my internet research, the only connection i have seen between the wts and cesnur or the un is in situations on the world scene threaten their right to religious freedom.

Look At the Fruits!! Says the Watchtower
by stevieb1 inwe know how much in the way of doctrine is scripturally deficient in the watchtower organization, but they will always come back and say something on the following lines:.
* look at the fruit of our works.
millions are coming to an accurate knowledge about jehovah who would never get to know him where it not for our preaching activities carried out worldwide.

Peace Security & Touching Jehovah's Eyeball
by Undine insalutations,.
i have been an inactive person for five years.
i am revolted by "the good old boy's club, counting time, endless meeting attendance and being introduced as "one of our fine elder's wives" etcetera...i've read and been liberated by the crisis of conscience book and realize the smarminess that is characteristic of the "organization.

JW Theology and the NY disaster
by msil inif i am misquoting the theology espoused by jws then please correct me.. but i am trying to appreciate their theology as far as death and armageddon are concerned.
we know that the jw belief is as follows: "he who has died has been acquitted of his sin".
this is often used to imply that almost all who die prior to the great tribulation or armageddon will receive a resurrection of life or judgement (ok we know sodom dudes, judas and the flood victims wont get one according to jw theology).
