  hey all,.

  it's 230am here and i'm at work.

  we're installing new software, which we have to do at night when everybody is off the various systems.. hopefully we'll get outta here by 4am.

  several of you have commented that you have books in publication, and some of you have been relatively successful with sales.. i'm halfway there.

  What keeps you from killing yourself?

  every once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.

  not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.

  "but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

  i read "cat in the hat" to zach tonight and became inspired.

  you be the judge if it was "inpsired of demons", "inpsired of god", or just gas.

  the sun did not shine.. it was a miserable day.. life seemed so empty.. just so cold and so gray.. .

  Paranoia and Arrogance, how closely are they linked?

  i was the 6th person in an elevator car today, which meant i had to stand in the middle.

  everyone else was against a wall and there i was, on display.

  this is always an uncomfortable spot for me.

  Picking through my mental attic, delighting in treasures found

  funny how such a small thing can brighten your day.. i got an email from a high school buddy out of the blue today.

  we haven't spoken in a decade, and then it was a chance encounter at the grocery store.

  turns out he wound up in insurance, just like me.. we haven't talked about "old times", just catching up.

  This is disquieting, a coworker "borrowed" my file

  i keep a manila folder for each project i'm working on in a wire rack on my desk.

  it's a stairstep kinda dealy do i can easily see all their little tabs poking up, volunteering information about their contents.

  quite cool, i love it.. a coworker stopped by my desk just now and mentioned that he'd grabbed one of my folders and gave it to a tester.

  The Ten Commandments Displays furor, why?

  i heard on npr today that some public buildings in the u.s. are moving to bring a display of the ten commandments in through the backdoor, calling it a historical document and presenting it alongside the magna carta and the constitution.. ok. but why?.

  80% of the ten commandments aren't reflected in our legal code.

  when was the last time you heard of someone getting busted for coveting?
