  no doubt many here have been also.

  i am also quite envious to see australia has something like this since i live in the united states.

  marilyn manned the helpline for many years, and touched the lives of so many effected by the wt.

  i disassociated myself about 8 years ago.

  went through a divorce and shunning from most my family.

  another wt article which causes jw's to doubt their own perceptions of reality.

  ) in this particular article titled " for those loving jehovah, " there is no stumbling block " - the wt society stoops to new, or rather re-hashed lows to insinuate that most if not all jw's really misunderstand causes of stumbling as it's just their minds that are imperfect, messed up, or gone entirely anyway.

  the first abhorrent bit of information here describes a witness man who " fought " with feelings of being homosexual and of course the elders thought they had the perfect antidote to keep him from his alleged " abnormal " desires.

  World's Apart Available at Blockbuster

  i don't know if this has been posted here or not but the ex-jw classic 'world's apart' independent film which depicts a danish girl's disfellowshipping is now available at blockbuster stores and online with english subtitles.

  i just watched it and i have to say it is very accurate.

  american ex-dubs will of course question a few details (such as an elder with a beard) but i suspect much of that can be overcome by realizing this was after all denmark.

  yes, i am enjoying realizing the truth about the truth.. but there is another side to it.

  the world as we know it didn't seem to me to be the way that god intended it to be.

  i know i was brainwashed, but it felt good believing that all the bad things would be changed.

  Any Change on YMCA Policy?

  i had heard recently the wtbs may have changed their policy on the ymca.

  it would be helpful to me personally if they have.

  i did know of a couple of people in my last congregation who went but i also heard some elders talking against it.

  Has Anybody Here Converted to Judaism?

  i've studied many religions since i left the jws.

  i've flirted with a few and have actually thought about joining, but in the end i didn't because it didn't feel right--it didn't resonate with me.

  in 2001, the year i discovered this forum, i started reading judaism 101 and really enjoyed it.
