"The Lord has graciously provided for the publication of his message in the form of books, that the people many be informed of the truth ... those books do not contain the opinion of any man." [Riches (1936), pages 384-385]

A friend of mine has that book in another language and he can't find that quote. Could any of you who have the book please tell me:

    1) The number and title of the chapter where that quote appers.
    2) The paragraph number and subtitle.

    Thanks.

My copy only goes up to page 359 (the rest is index and ads) but on page 7 of Chapter 1 "False and True", the second paragraph says:

"If so, you will gain a knowledge that will bring you to real peace of mind, because this book does not contain the opinion of a man, but sets for the truth taken from the Word of God."

I can't find the exact quote you have listed.

    Have to agree with Blondie.

It's always important to get these quotes exactly right. Can you imagine the WT response to an 'apostate' misquoting them?

So I hope you'll forgive my 'nit-picking' Blondie but this is haow the quote you referred to on page 7 actually appears:

If so, you will gain a knowledge that will bring to you real peace of mind, because this book does not contain the opinion of a man, but sets forth truth taken from the Word of God.

Nic, the difference I see from your quote to mine is "the truth" as opposed to "truth" in your quote. Am I missing something? I re-read that sentence in the book several times and mine says "the truth." If there is something else, let me know. Because my book definitely says "the truth."

    (I do have vision problems.)

Osarif, that might be a quote from the 1936 WT of those pages advertising the book, Riches.

blondie; My copy reads the same as yours. 1st printing 1936. Maybe the page # in the original post comes from a later printing. They change from printing to printing.

    I finally found it:

“The Lord has graciously provided for the publication of his message in the form of books that the people may be informed of the truth…Those books do not contain the opinion of any man.” Riches 1936, (end of page 353 and top of page 354)
(Chapter X, Duty & Results, Abomination section)

I wish I had this on CD.

    Hello everyone,

    a good quotation. My information...
    agrees with Blondie:

" The Lord has graciously provided for the publication of his message in the form of books that the people may be informed of the truth…Those books do not contain the opinion of any man.” Riches 1936, (end of page 353 and top of page 354)
(Chapter X, Duty & Results, Abomination section)"

(Thanks Blondie). Btw, to be fair I have all quotations,
in a form of a booklet, and they were graciously provided
online -all 114 pages - from the link
"Watchtower quotations" from Freminds (I think ).

    Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp
