hello nb-dfed
Welcome to the board. Glad you enjoyed the thread and hope you feel the same abou the entire board. (((((Billygoat,)))) I don't understand, but I guess I don't need to. There are ofter judgemental statements made about groups of people that shouldn't be said, but I didn't take that statement as condemnation. Countryguy was just quoting the writer Dave Barry about how people ussually do not want to listen as much as they want to talk when it comes to sharing their beliefs. Country guy was just naming a few religions that he thought that was perticularly true.
Grace,
I believe the only way people are interested in what you believe is seeing how you walk, not how you talk,
I know I am not walking as well as I could-...But you all know what flesh is...weak!!!
But that is why I love the LORD because he KNEW I couldnt do it ....So HE did it for me!!!!Next time -Why not say to her , " I hope we can still show what both believe is true.....LOVE is the most important think in the world. ((((RUNNING from all the stones you MAY chuck....
(((((Grace))))) no stones. You are a good example of one who lives what you believe and preach. That is why I told the lady that I am happy for anyone who connects, finds God, accepts Jesus in their heart. It should make them a better person.
Andie and Grace
As a JW I always wondered 'how I could have felt so close to God as a Baptist when I hadn't come to know the true God Jehovah'. My beliefs were in error but I was still close to God. Then as an ex witness I wondered how could I have felt so close to Jehovah while minimizing the only one who grants access to HIM, Jesus. Again, my beliefs were in error, yet I connected with God. From my reading the last two years I have come to the conviction due to my personal experience that what one thinks to be absolute religious truth doesn't really matter to God. But what does matter is the two great laws of LOVE. I , myself, do not expect anything from anyone claiming to be a Christian except LOVE. However, would I be too harsh to admit openly, that I find many self proclaimed Christian Fundamentalist put their teaching/dogma/beliefs ahead of loving their neighbor? Now I'm not saying all of them, but there seems to be a trend. I do not want to get into this if it offends.
I was a little hard on the fundamentalist in my comments. Perhaps I upset both of you. If so I apologize. Will you accept a big hug? Andie, please don't fire me as you God-father. and Grace continue doing what you do in Christian love. You have helped a lot of people. I know you both appreciate what I mean in connecting with God.
