Lying and shielding a JW child molester.

Lying about lying when 3 people knew the facts.

Groping me in the swimming pool (I nearly broke his finger).

Visiting his DF'd son/daughter but threatening another JW with DF'ing for doing the same thing.

One?!!! MANY!!! The vast majority, in fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite a few in the congregations (Spanish) I used to attend in the New England area had purposely maxed out their credit cards, taken loans, refinanced their homes and spend all this dough in trips, clothes, and other extravagant deals; when it was all said, done and spend... The theocratic little elders would then declare bankrupcy!!!!!!!!!!! How's that for being Jehovah's people???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some would even be as bold as to counsel others among the R&F to do the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, a trip down memory lane about 25 years. I'm still laughing.

Construction boss husband's daily trip out of town, 30 miles, to the jobsite: $3.00

Half a rack of beer for the crew after work: $5.99

Running into The Annoying Nerd Elder in the liquor store, while buying the beer, with an open Penthouse in hand admiring the photos.

    Priceless

Well they are human and I wouldn't hold an occasional swear word against any of them.

But protecting pedophiles at the expense of the victims

    Abusing his wife and kids

    Punching and kicking his kids

and then going out to counsel people on how to treat their families

Got to see all that up close and personal

MorpheuX Well after field service we got back to the KH, went down to the library and the CO pulled out an old Watchtower that confirmed what he said. I was shocked. That was my first introduction to "theocratic warfare".

Hell, if it's in the Watchtower then it MUST me true!!!

The JW mind set never fails to amaze me.

Oh yeah lots of times and several elder's, they are JUST people too mind you.

When my X and I bought our first computer we had no idea how to get on line so this elder friend of ours came over and got us connected with AOHeL.........set up our email accounts and began to show us how to surf the web. First thing he did was go to a search engine Alta Vista I think and typed in the word "tits"............OMG! I couldn't believe HE did this! GERRRRRR!!! This was to be our first but not the last porn ever viewed on our computer.

We spent lots of time with elders sitting around telling dirty jokes, racist jokes and gay bashing jokes, yes I'm ashamed to say. Drinking to excess and we rode and hung out in biker bars with some elders drinking and then getting on our harley's and driving..............shameful! Oh and the other thing some of the elders loved to do is talk about some of the commitee matters........of course they avoided mentioning names but they just loved to brag about things they were involved in. I hated that!

We stayed in Casino's and did a lot of one arm bandit gambling with elders too. One of us would act as the look out and the others would play the slot machines. We swore an oath to not nark the others out if any one of us got caught!

Yep elders are just people too.............not closer to god ya know.

There is a local Elder that had a sand and gravel company for a little time. In a fast growing Southern Nevada community he is the only company of that kind to go out of business. He would always do dirty deals with people. Give them a load of pit run dirt and charge them for type II gravel, or charge them for more gravel than what he delivered. I was at another Elders house one time and was admiring a load of gravel that he had delivered for his driveway and asked who he had received it from. It was a different color gravel than what the Elder Sand and Gravel companies pit usually had. Well, this Elder would not give me a straight answer as to whom he had bought it from, because he knew how bad the other Elder was.

Well it's hard to say, but people are imperfect and should be allowed a lot of slack, more than the society gives, in fact. So it would have to be something truly hypocritical for me to get revved up.

But when I found out that the elder who diffed me for immorality (guily as charged!) was abusing his wife and daughters... yeesh... At least the chicks I rolled weren't related to me and were well over the age of consent...

Sure elders are people but if they do the "untheocratic" things they would and have raked others in the congregation over the coals for.....hmmmm....sounds very hypocritcal to me (or allowed other elders to rake them over the coals)

"It's only wrong if you get caught." said an elder in the last congregation I attended

I knew an elder who gave a talk on immorality while he was balling a pioneer, and another who swore like a trooper and used to beat the shit out of his kids regularly. This same elder was first in line to condemn anyone who stepped over the line but tried to cover up his own indiscressions with bare faced lying.
