    1. Getting my hours in.
    2. Literature placements was included in this also.
When the CO came around and reviewed potential appointments.......he first looked at the publisher record cards. Hours and placements were top of his agenda. It didn't matter how faithful, or qulified a brother was......if his hours and placements were down..........he would not be appointed without a MAJOR reason that prevented him from doing so.

Q.: What were the most important qualifications for "privileges" in your congregation?

A.: Submission to those elders who had already attained their rank.

Hours on the record card and meeting attendances were the given norms for selection . The rest were down to how badly we needed another pair of hands

    Some complete turn downs:-

    a) Suggest improvements ( presumption)

    b) Disagree with an elder, especially when being counselled (lack of humility)

    c) Be out spoken (self importance)

    d) wear clothes that are too fashionable (drawing attention to oneself)

    e) facial hair (fails to apply counsel)

    f) letting it be known that he expects to be appointed (pride)

In my congregation it was mainly #8, and then being wealthy also helped a lot. It was very common to see those who were better off financially closer to the top ranks than those who were less fortunate.

    G'day Scully,

I think your comment about the Daily Text being the extent of the Bible reading is a moot point. As you can see from 'the list', Bible reading's the only one that has anything to do with being a spiritual person. In other words, when it comes down to it, the WTS is just a pseudo-christian religion and its members may be spiritual people, but that has little to do with their acceptance into "the organisation".

    Cheers, Ozzie

Not listed: Making sure to greet "the brothers" (guess which ones) at the door of the hall with a hearty handshake. One of our MSs (the one who listened to ZZTop over the hall sound system while working on the literature counter when no one was there) bragged that that's what got him his MS...
