It is with the heaviest of hearts that we [The Eagles]...the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016.

Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.

The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery.

Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide.

    “It's Your World Now”
Written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin
From the Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden album

A perfect day, the sun is sinkin' low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn't last
But I'd do it all again
    If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin' soon
    It's your world now

    It's your world now
    My race is run
    I'm moving on
    Like the setting sun
    No sad goodbyes
    No tears allowed
    You'll be alright
    It's your world now

    Even when we are apart
You'll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
    Remember true love never dies

But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there's still time
My one last wish: someday, you'll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me

    It's your world now
    Use well your time
    Be part of something good
    Leave something good behind
    The curtain falls
    I take my bow
That's how it's meant to be
    It's your world now
    It's your world now
    It's your world now

We are so sad. The Eagles were our favorite group. We had the pleasure to attend their last concert tour 2 years ago. They were awesome!

    Glen was pure talent.

Salute! The Eagles and Glenn Frey are up there with my favorites.

My favorite one as related to my feelings about the Jehovah's Witnesses:

    "Already Gone" The Eagles

Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day
And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf
But let me tell you I got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself
    'Cause I'm already gone
    And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo, hoo, woo, hoo, hoo

The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like you had to set things right
Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky
You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right)

    And I'm already gone
    And I'm feelin' strong
    I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo,hoo,woo, hoo,hoo

Well I know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key

    But me, I'm already gone
    And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
    'Cause I'm already gone
    Yes, I'm already gone
    And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
    'Cause I'm already gone
    Yes, I'm already gone
    Already gone
    All right, nighty-night

I had an opportunity to see the 'Hell Freezes Over' show live way back in the 90's. I regret not going - for the past 20+ years.

So sad to learn of his passing. And 67 is a number that seems smaller and smaller every damn day.

    RIP Glenn.

I doubt he realized that Hotel California had special meaning to many ex-jws.

I had all their albums and listened to one summer trip from the beginning to the end of the trip following 2 of their hits that summer from radio station to radio station.

With my husband we attended their appearances on tour as long as they came within 300 miles of our home.

I knew he was ill, they had to postpone a tour, and we shared a chronic illness rheumatoid arthritis.

It has been a few sad weeks in the music business and I am reminded of my mortality.

He leaves behind a body of work that will be a treasure longer than a life of any human.

Another one dammit. Thank you for the music. RIP Mr. Frey.

The Eagles were Linda Ronstadt's band back in the day, and you could catch a set from them at the Golden Bear or The Troubadour. She put a good band together, and blessed them when they asked if they could leave and form their own band.

No one should have to die from those causes nowadays, What a sad way to go, and a great loss to the art world. RIP

I am sad a man died and I am sure he had loved one but the Eagles were truly a terrible band.

The only thing worse than the Eagles was all those individual side projects they did.
