  This is an amplification and adjustment in understanding of what appears in The Watchtower of November 15, 1974, pages 703-704, and of February 15, 1978, pages 30-32. Those who acted on the basis of the knowledge they had at the time are not to be criticized. Nor would this affect the standing of a person who in the past believed that a mates perverted sexual conduct within marriage amounted to porneia and, hence, obtained a divorce and is now remarried.

  with this one little footnote in the wt it wiped out folks very lives- notice they refer to such a major doctrinal shift as an "Amplification and Adjustment in understanding"

  can you imagine the sister who was in the process of getting a divorce on this goofy grounds to only find out that now she will be DFed for following thru on what she was told was a conscience matter

  when you consider that rules like this by THE CHEESE CRACKER MEN along with so many other rules that change over night have impacted the lives of so many

  What about the sister that thought she was doing the right thing and DID get the divorce, only to realize that SHE did something unscriptural. I'll bet a few of that mind-set are out there too, thinking that before Jehovah, that they have sinned.

  Yes.......the great GB has spoken for Jehovah. If you have broken a bible principal because we told you to do so.....you are forgiven. If your mate you divorced on false grounds has a problem with it.......tough shit!

  The wt society has utilized this form of cop out since it's inception. All of the past guru's CTR, da Judge, Nathan, Freddie, and now the geriatric 'boys club' gb, have conditioned the average joedub to accept this as a form of appology.

  Actually it is the most lame, totally dishonest, attempt at diverting the reader from the real 'truth'. For a religion that touts 'the truth'......they seldom practice, what they teach.

  I guess it is tough to admit a wrong, especially when you have proclaimed world wide in 200 languages, in millions of publications, that your words are the manifestation of God's own thoughts on the matter.

  Once you commit to that first lie, damn its hard to deny it!

  Please, could you put up the WT info where we can find the above quote? You know better than that.................no jw will believe anything unless it can be shown where it was taken from....then 90% of them won't believe anyway. Satanic apostate influence.

  If a JW woman/man wanted a divorce, and found out that they had grounds to get out of the crappy marriage - and went for it........I don't think they'd feel a bit bad later on when they found out they didn't have grounds. They got through the loophole - and every jw knows those loopholes are priceless.

  If The Society says it's ok........then Jehovah says it's ok. All JW's know that The Society is the Only Channel to Jehovah.

  And if The Society makes "an adjustment?" "Well, afterall, they're just imperfect men."

  Covered either way.
