The one thing, men and women of all cultures share in common, is the desire for STATUS. People will lie, cheat, steal, murder and sell their children into slavery for 3 generations to be the most important person in their group. Jehovahs Witnesses may, for various reasons, particularly fear of loss of status, avoid openly fornicating.
Striving to be the most important person in the group is an entirely different matter. Selling their children into slavery (Bethel Service or Pioneering) is just the beginning. Driving half a day to give an hour talk while they live is squalor and hide from their bill collectors is not unusual.
