Grandparents 1890's/1900's (not JWs)
Parents 1930's (1st gen)
Me 1950's (2nd gen)
Children 1980's (3rd gen)
Grandchildren recently (4th gen?)
My children overlapped with one of their greatgrandparents... does that count as one generation???

How does this count?
My grandmother was born in 1918, obviously after the generation of 1914. Her dad was of the 1914 generation. My grandmother was the overlap generation and lived to be 91. She has been dead 4 years.
Great Grandmother (1890ish) Grandmother (1920ish), mom (1940ish), me (1960ish), son (1980ish)granddaughter (2010ish). That's 6 for my family since 1914. I never knew my great and my grand died when I was 2. So, our generations never truly met.
1900,1930, 1969, 2000,
next one any day now.
but according to old light:
generation = the general poulation, partakers or not.
40 is a biblical generation
I'm in the Pepsi generation.
Hm...let's see
1 Great-great grandmother (Late 1800's)
2 Great grandmother (Baptized early 1900's)
3 Grandfather (Baptized 1920's)
4 Mother (Batized 1940's)
5 Me - for now. And several cousins (Born 1950's-60's)
6 Cousins children (Born 1980's)
7 Cousins grand children (Born early 2000's)
So by the best math and calculations available to man.....ONE GENERATION!
Sorry, I know you said since 1914, but I just couldn't resist.
My family carries the gene for Dunlap's Disease. One generation Dunlaps right over the next.
