Its to appear forthcoming and honest. Only apostates would know better, so it's a good play on their part.

Ask most JWs if the Borg has been honest in admitting their mistakes, every one will tell you it has.

They mention it for the same reason that "CULT" was

the subject of a symposium at an convention 2 (?) years ago!

    >

Like butter wouldn't melt in their mouth- "some say that we are a cult,

jehovah's witnesses are not a cult".

    >

The point being, that if they have the 'innocent openness"()to bring

it up first .............that will give credibility & a win for them!

    >

So in a jw mind now ....when they hear CULT...they can dsimiss it as

already proven false by their leaders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby tried to hide behind the "light getting brighter". I told him if you are taking the shopping cart up and down the same aisle, you're not getting anywhere.

Good question Captain Blithering. Some good idea's as to why that is so. I have a view as well, maybe the GB are delibrately trying to confuse JWs (R and F) with 6 endnotes and the researching of 4 additional watchtowers all to hide the fact that the whole magazine is contradictory.

In paragraph 18 when everyone is bored and tired, it's stated that Jesus will appoint the FDS over his belongings in the future when he comes in the clouds. Anyone who is still conscience at this point would realise that the GB is not the FDS. Which will later be contradicted in two weeks time.

Hey, but thats just my view, everyone else makes good points too
