I get the feeling that there is more to the Eve story than we are aware of.

If we look at the patriachal religions, they are very 'anti-woman'.

Is this based on their corruption of the Bible story.

Yes, I think there is more to the story of Eve, and our the 'origins' than we think.

    Father God, Mother Goddess.

Of course religions in the middle east are patriarchial, this matches the theme of their system of family and government. God was invented by Kings to scare the lessers and help legitimize them. The head of all religions both now and in the past was the king. The main hero of all religions is also a king or aspiring king. In Xianity its jesus and his kingdom in the OT the major theme is King Davids line and return along with the priests.

Lost, the motifs and themes of the story are not exclusive to Genesis, but were used in other cultures throughout the Ancient Near East (eg Hesiod's Prometheus, the account of Pandora's Box where she introduced all the evils of the world due to her curiosity).

The cultures of the ANE were highly-patriarchal (and still are!), and hence the story reflects the commonly-accepted belief that women were "less than" men. Some commentators even suggest Eve's crime was trying to alter the balance of power that God had instituted by daring to join the ranks of the Elohim by gaining the wisdom of a God. Part of Eve's curse was for her desire to NOT be for wisdom (which drove her to eat the fruit), but for her desire to be subsumed to the Adam's desires. That's 'Paul's' later interpretation of the Genesis account, citing Eve's curse as proof of why women need to be in submission to their husbands.

I've written an article on the paradox of Adam and Eve, explaining all of that in greater detail, but it's hard to see it as any other than a reflection of a prevalent attitude that was shared amongst ancient men (which included misogeny, an excuse to justify keeping women pregnant and barefoot in the kitchen, as well as slavery, also a common practice).

As Frued once said sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Maybe the story about Adam and Eve is just a simple way to tell all mankind that they

need to bow and accept the redeemer and creator to accept his blessings in this life and the

    next.

How far can we go back, before 'religion' to the tribes.

They had a different attitude to women, more respectful. The women were the healers, mother earth and all that.

How can I dig deeper to find answers to these thing ?

The whole world is run on a system of control.

Just thinking about the 1500's, when the Church burned alive many who wanted to translate the Bible, and they sluaghtered the women healers for being 'witches'.

People lost their connection with the earth, and medicinal plants etc.

Now big pharma rules (money and power), people can't even smoke ganja.

    Deep thoughts lately.

lost: yes --- respectful, there is no hint of discrimination aginst the female in that story.

    Eve was seduced,-- respectfully.

    the moral of the story:

husbands dont have your wifes talk alone to strangers in secluded & appealing places, especially if they are not fully dressed. You will bear the consequences, financially even, the courts will reject paternal (dis)proofs.

the serpent was not included in the mandate to humans to be fruitful and fill the earth. is

The Eve & serpent story a prelude to of what was to come in the pre-flood angelic free for all?

Who says the bible stories do not have more potential for spin, look at the 7/15/013 wt.
