Just had a funny vision of awakened ex JW's going to convention in Flip Flops. People outside in flip flops with signs advertising JWFacts and other worthwhile internet sites. Another sign could read "Hey, did you hear the one about the Flip Flop doctrine?" And then people inside listening to talks by the GB looking like good JW's would pull flip flops out of there bag and walk around. Of course they would probably be escorted out which would add to the scene.

good idea,,wearing flip flops as a symbol of JW flip flops!! Would they seriously walk people out at a convention for that? At the Hall, could that be a 'marking' offense?

Yes a symbol indeed, that would NOT be missed by the elder police. They would understand what was happening and would want to clean out the apostate influence. If it happened throughout the auditorium it would get difficult to handle.

Down here in the southern states lots of young gals wore flipflops and beach-type footwear when i was going to conventions!

Iown: Then they would have to ban flip flops as being apostate attire.

This post made me smile! I live in a coastal area where they have had local needs talks on the inappropriateness of flip-flops and denim skirts. Such wardrobe control.

Love the flip-flops being a symbol of their flip-flopping doctrines.

I used to wear dressy flipflops at meetings and conventions. Nobody BUT NOBODY separates me from my flipflops in the summer. They are the most comfortable of footwear for me and, although I'm very economical and boring when it comes to shoes, I love collecting flipflops in lots of shades.

What a great idea having a 'flipflop' 'secret' signal for those of the 'conscious class' at the DCs. *Imagining brothers in business suits looking very smart ... until you see their feet*

I don't trust people not to stomp on my toes...especially at conventions/assemblies. I want my feet protected. Also, flipflops don't give me the foot support I need. Then there is all the dirt from past and present unknown people.

I remember going to Hawaii years ago for a DC and the dress was very casual...flipflops and muumuus and that was only the brothers, haha.
