How do you know the ants don't get together and talk and make designs?

    I don't.

Its also possible that starlings in a murmuration are shouting "left a bit, right a bit, up a bit" to each other. However we now know exactly how they act as one big flock so its unlikely they do it by shouting instructions.

Design in nature is "bottom-up" not "top-down".

Hi James Brown, many of our words are historical, based on languages that came before. Some languages are more descriptive than others. Some languages have 13 words for the word "love". An eskimo has to say a whole bunch of words to say "camera" - "thing which takes pictures" or something like that. If an English man says something is designed, it's not necessarily what he means. The design of something is about it's form and function - however it came to be.

This topic has always interested me. Most of our immune system is dedicated to fighting an infection after it has overcome our perimeter defenses. A raging fever; a stuffy nose; coughing; sneezing; watery eyes; nausea; vomiting; swollen lymph nodes. --Those are all aspects of our immune system at work.

If the JW's are correct and we were never 'intended' to become ill and experience these things, then why are they 'designed' into the human system?

Why do we have an extremely complex blood clotting cascade if we were never supposed to have accidents and bleed?

I asked my father this question a while back about our immune system and the organs that support it etc. He said that our immune response is not necessary and that the body's defense mechanism will have another purpose. He also beleives that we only use 10% of our brain and that in the new system we will use 100% of our brain.

It's so frustrating trying to combat "magical thinking"...

Its possible cult members only use 10% the rest of us use all of it.

Its astonishing how often we still hear that cannard.

Did jehoopla design the human immune system or did it evolve?

He couldn't have added it later because the creative Day was over by the time sin happened. ;)

It's just another JW version of the urban legend that they want to believe, an appeal to their egos to fantasize how smart they will be in the New System. And what exactly do they think they'll be using all that brain-power for? Are they going to allow college in the New System?

YHWH will provide for all their needs, from clean energy to perfect nutrition, healthy perfect bodies (no doctors needed), so there will be little real thinking needed: the highest level cogitive skills needed all just be those for technician-level work.

On second thought, that might seem pretty appealing, if you're currently only educated for washing windows/janitorial service....
