And yes, there are some April fool's rumors out there, but with any of these rumors until we read a letter or have something more concrete, being skeptical is warranted.

I heard this rumor some time ago. I wouldn't be surprised. It seems the District Conventions keep getting smaller. The Circuits around here are assigned to attend the Convention in a small town,with 3-4 weekends,and only 3,000-4,000 scheduled to attend each.

Perhaps the GB will change the CAs to a one day event, like the SAD. That should free up the Assembly Halls a bit and provide some time to schedule a few 2 day DAs.
