From the March 15, 2012 WT, pg 17 para 10. Today there are better ways to reach not millions, but billions including those in China, India, and Arabic countries where they don't even know the name Jehovah. I guess stockpiling billions in cash and property are more important than spreading the "urgent message" Hypocrites!

"The example of a small group of
Bible Students who prior to 1914 set
out to preach the good news illustrates
what it means to have a sense of urgency
    .
Although they were only a few thousand
    strong, they appreciated the urgency
    of the times and enthusiastically
took up the Kingdom preaching work.
They had sermons published in hundreds
    of newspapers
    and presented a
program of color slides and motion pictures
    called the “Photo-Drama of Creation.”
In this way, they reached millions
    with the good news
    . If they had
not had a sense of urgency, how many of
us would have heard the Kingdom message
    ?—
    Read Psalm 119:60."

Maybe they should be thanking that there were corrupt ignorant religious charlatans like C T Russel and J Rutherford,

who started and created the WTS. publishing house without those particular men and their efforts the GB, the WTS. and all its wealth

    wouldn't be around today.

It isn't about spreading the message. If it were, they would take advantage of avenues that would accomplish that more efficiently. It's about having a feeling of uniqueness. Because they are the only ones going door-to-door, they can claim they are the only ones who are actually preaching.

It also keeps the rank-and-file busy, and helps keep tabs on them. The door-to-door work serves a two-fold purpose.

It's busy work. Busy work that keeps bringing people in unfortunately. Maybe not as many as they once did, and certainly not enough to cover those who are leaving. Unfortunately some still do get suckered in.

The setting themselves apart is another big issue. I can't tell you how many JW I have had discussions with that see thru all the BS, but that is the tiny thread they hold on to "who else is going door to door"

I agree. If there was actual urgency the GB would be acting ala Harold Camping. If you are a lurker please take note of how the Organization will pay lip service to the urgency of the message, but their methods of spreading the life saving message are less than urgent.

Harold Camping accomplished in a matter of months what the WT claims to have been the only group attempting to accomplish for the past 90 years. The WT isn't concerned about getting any message out, the same way they're not concerned with truth(Carl Olof Jonnson) or people's lives. The only thing they're concerned with is maintaining their publishing company and their way of life.

Urgency is for the little people.

Folks at the top are too busy dedicating assembly halls in Tahiti and making zone visits to Paris and Sydney.

What they really want to do is guilt people from countries where there are "plenty" of witlesses to serve where the need is greater. That way, they won't get time to read apostate material online or think that something is wrong with Jehovah or the religion. And, why move to New Zealand when the need is greater in China, India, and the Muslim countries in the Middle East?

The Wt. should just have a Facebook page, 3/4 of the country are reqistered on Facebook...

Its for obvious reasons the WTS. wants to push people to distribute their literature.

Its a publishing house that sustains itself people buying and proliferating its published goods.

What they've done is convince people that they are preaching the gospel of the bible when

in reality they are preaching the gospel of the Watchtower Corporation.

There is an easy to see expressive effort to exploit and manipulate people to their advantage.

There are distinctive differences between the two gospels.
