wobble --- I was mostly joking,, thus the little devil emoticon. I think it's mostly an American expression that's always puzzled me! hehe

Thanks for the lovely response. mwah! mwah! :)

dgp -- the name isn't ringing a bell, but I've just written it down, and as soon as I finish this post, will google same. I have lots of time on my hands right now, being pretty much housebound, so maybe I can order something from the library?

On another note,,, a famous American fundy is George W. Bush ... I'm posting a short vid to show that not only "bleeding heart Liberals",,, but "Raging Fundamentalists" also support Islam.

This man never ceases to amaze me!

Edit:: darn! it didn't embed properly,,, but it's a defence of Islam if you want to click on the link. ::

GWB and the Saudi (I believe Saudi, but certainly Islamic) prince have been very good friends since childhood. I remember seeing a TV broadcast of them having a visit together, holding hands whilst strolling through the gardens of the White House.

The most populous Islamic nation, Indonesia, does not force the wearing of the burqa, go figure.

I do though agree Islam is innately misogynist like JW's and Catholicism et all..

dgp -- googled, WOW, amazing woman - have ordered her 3 books from the library, and I'm not too far down the queue!

Jean Sasson has written 9 or 10 books on women's experience under Islam rule, including Princess: A true story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia, and Love in a torn land: Joanna of Kurdistan: the true story of a freedom fighter's escape from Iraqi vengeance.

The Princess book is the first of a trilogy about Princess Sultana (of the Saudi royal family), the second is mainly about her lesbian daughter's story and so on... awesome reading.

Talesin, I have all three: Infidel, The Caged Virgin, and Nomad. I gave the first two to the witness I was interested in. It's sad that she could not connect the dots as to why I was giving those to her, while my young niece immediately did. She did notice the more atheistic message in "The Caged Virgin".

I'm sure you will love "Infidel". May I suggest other books?

Marjane Satrapi, Iranian woman who left Iran (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_15?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=marjane+satrapi&x=0&y=0&sprefix=marjane+satrapi

    "Persepolis" and "Embroidery".

    Ibn Warraq:

"Why I am not a Muslim" The chapter on women is very good (well, the whole book is).

And then, it would be nice if you could read V. S. Naipaul's "Among the Believers" (http://www.amazon.com/Among-Believers-Islamic-V-S-Naipaul/dp/0394711955/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1308841647&sr=1-1)
