Flock Book pg. 38 para 20 last sentence:

For example, the sin may involve past
child abuse, and this would likely disqualify him for
    many years.

38 "Shepherd the Flock or God"-J Peter 5:2

MAY DISQUALIFY HIM FOR MANY YEARS????? TRY FOREVER, come on guys, it has been proven you cannot heal these people.

They would have to get rid of some men who were guilty of this but are serving as elders at this time.

MOMMA TOSSED ME- Thanks for sharing this tidbit . Notice the expression also , " this would LIKELY disqualify him for many years. " ( to serve as an elder ) So the word LIKELY also suggests an occasional former child molester either possibly or WOULD be appointed an elder. Did you catch that as well Momma ? Pretty sick reasoning on WT society's parts

Good point MINIMUS I didn't think of that either, so the pool of elders is polluted by men who get their jollies off on thinking of young kids.

Imagine trying to change your sexuality. Think about it.

I am a heterosexual male. I must stop being attracted to females, I must stop being attracted to females, I must stop being attracted to females......

    Nope not working.

There was study done somewhere recently that put a gorgeous woman near a skateboard park full of young men. It was observed that the young men took more risks when the woman was present in the park.

I submit to you that based on my own study, me being the only subject of the study, that my state of mind is altered when a good looking women even walks into the room.

    Just my observation.

Can you imagine what heaven these guys are in a kingdom hall?

    Flipper..it`s worse than that..

It means they "Are" going to use a Child Abuser at some point..

    It`s a matter of "When"..not "If"..

So they will be appointing child abusers...But good luck getting appointed if someone has a history of having had a relationship with an ADULT of the same sex. Consensual adult relationships are worse than child abuse?

    There goes that work "likely"

Yet defenders contently say they will never be appointed ever! Yeah right.

Do they "disqualify" all current elders and ministerial servants who have in the past abused a child? Do they even ask? Or do they get a pass?

    13. In every case, the elders must ask the following
questions: "Is there anything from your past,
even before baptism, or in your personal or family
life that disqualifies you or that would prevent you
from accepting this appointment? Is there any reason
why your appOintment should not be announced to
the congregation?" If the brother has not previously
served as an elder or a ministerial servant, ask the following
    question:
"Have you ever been involved at
any time in the past with child sexual molestation?"
If he answers yes to any of these questions, do not announce
the appointment. Return the S-2 form or
5-52 appointment letter to the branch office, and provide
a complete explanation as to why the appointment
should be annulled. If the brother answers no
to these questions and accepts the apPOintment, the
elders might direct his attention to information provided
by "the faithful and discreet slave" that will
help him fulfill his new privilege of service.- Matt.
    24:45; od chaps. 5-6.

If it has been long enough without any accusations I think it is safe to say that they would appoint a pedophile based on what was said in the original post.
