I have a rescued 13 yr old longhair cat who is a flu carrier - she sneezes a lot and often needs her nose wiping and dried snot combing from her fur

I also have a 14-15 yr old cat who survived two cancer ops last year, but it looks like he may have another tumour now and I don't think he'd survive another op as I suspect the last 2 have taken their toll on his heart but he's happy and well for now so we'll see how he goes.

Both are quite happy with a warm place to sleep and plenty of food and love!

Thanks to all for the older pet stories ... so many wonderful personal experiences.

It hurts to think at some point they might need what Outlaw mentioned. ( A shovel)

    I don't think I could ever bury a dog...myself.

When My older beloved Doberman had to be put down the vet did a Paw imprint into clay before he died. I still treasure it along with his pictures and pedigree.

Thanks once again to each and everyone of you! How precious our old pets are!!!!!!!

    r.
