Kind of like the previous President? I find it interesting that the American electorate selected two mirror opposites in succesion. Maybe I am reading too much into this.

I like him...but I was under no delusion that he was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Two things have been accomplished that I was hoping for by his being elected...

One, we have an intelligent, well-spoken leader who doesn't embarrass us with his "aw shucks" attitude and dumbass comments. He represents the nation well on his travels.

Two, we have elected a member of a minority class as leader of our nation. Though race relations may not be as ideal as we'd like, we are progressing and from Barack Obama's experience, one can truly say that anyone can grow up to be president...or whatever they want.

I do have concerns about some of his ideas and some of the things getting pushed through, but there's not a politician in DC that I don't have issues with, so nothing new there.

Did anyone really think he was the Messiah? He's on a learning curve, but at least he has ideas. After 8 years of a revolutionary power in charge, he is a relief.
