In Romans and Colossians It is made quite clear that new Christians who choose to continue celebrating the festivals of their old religion are NOT doing wrong.
"Let no man judge you with regard to a festival or a new moon." (The claim by the Witchtower that this is written to Jews only is nonsense. Celebrating the new moon was NOT part of the Mosaic Code - it is a pagan custom that the Jews adopted.)
"He who celebrates it, celebrates it to THE LORD."
In other words whatever festivals we choose to celebrate, we now do them in honor of the Lord
Col 2: 8, 18 & are a warning against people who want to become our leaders, and very much fits what the WTBTS has done. V 21 - "do not handle! do not touch! are based on human teachings. v23 "such regulations have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship."
Romans 14: 5,6. V12 & 13 "Each of us will give an account to God, therefore let us stop passing judgement on one another."
Yet what will happen if a witless celebrates his birthday, christmas, easter, or a new moon?
