Thank you all for your responses and the info. I'm having a discussion with my dad about this. He flatly denies the settlement even took place, never mind the amount involved. so I'm gathering the writen evidence to the contrary.

your hard work and persistence is very much appreciated. You have done a lot to expose the detestable underbelly of the evil policy of a hypocritical organisation. By playing your part the Christian way (doing what is right and damning the consequences), you have helped save many children around the world, and have alerted unsuspecting parents to the dangers lurking in the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. More power to you and your family, and all those involved with this.

I wonder if this was really a mistake or if someone wanted the information leaked.

When I was purchasing court records for my CD, "Secrets of Pedophilia In An American Religion," the San Diego Court records department mistakenly sent me sealed court settlement papers. Ten days later, when they realized what they had done, I was contacted and asked not to publish the papers. I was not asked to keep the figures secret so I shared the settlement amount with NBC Nightly News. I told the court that I would not publish the court papers but had sent copies of all the court documents to people who were involved with me on the compilation of material for the CD and had no control over what they did. This was accepted.
