I know what you're talking about. There's a very nice older couple who have done many things for the organization. They were responsible for starting a congregation in Israel and one in South Dakota. A few months ago they got my sister's help in selling some old vinyls of theirs on eBay, because they needed the extra cash.
Even though they say time and time again that this congregation is the "most loving they've seen anywhere"--and they have certainly seen enough of the world to make that statement--they've got to scrounge to make ends meet. And believe me, these two have simplified their lives in an admirable way.
It just needs to be explained: Jehovah can't pay your bills every month. Don't count on those "miracle checks in the mail."
