    dido:

I can`t believe that i am the only person so far on here that has experienced a demon attack! It happened when i was in bed, i thought someone had broken into my house, as there was something lying on my back, (i was lying on my front, as that is how i liked to sleep). I also experienced a warm hand around my stomach, which totally freaked me out, as i really thought it was an intruder. I have had my hair pulled from the side of the bed when i was younger, and i know of a few people who have experienced similar things.

That wasn't a demon attack. You were experiencing something known as "night terrors" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_terrors). Like most experiences once attributed to demons, it's now understood as a real medical condition. Your doctor should be able to refer you to a specialist if these occur again.

yes dido, look up sleep paral;ysis (google it) and you will jut be amazed at what it says. it is describing your experience. I had this happen to and swore for years they wer demon attacks and then when i found out what they really were and talked to my doc, I was so embarased that I had not thought ot ask a doc about this instead chose ot believe in the supernatural attacking me. But we as jws have been conditioned not think rationally, ie go to a doc, instead go to an elder who of course has medical training.

the dreams occur mostly when i'm stressed and that's aobutit. talk to your doc and see if he has some othe help for you. best wishes

It must have really freaked you out what happened to you, but i'm afraid i agree with the above posters on the real cause of this experience. The weight on the chest thing and not being able to breath and shout out whilst still awake?......That's happened to me a few times. At first i thought the same as you, it's a reeeeeaally weird experience, but if you read up on the above offered medical information, i think you may see what FunkyD and the rest are trying to tell you.

    Peace to ya

Thanks all for your advice, i will check out the links, but i`m still not convinced there aren`t any demon`s, as my brother`s got ghosts in his house, and they cause all sorts of probs., door slamming, playing drums, piano etc., so will keep an open mind on that.

Thank you Martin for this post.My mother was always claiming to see or hear stuff.Me I was totally unconvinced of it.I would be awake late at night and hear her say something like theres something in the hall or somethings in here.I would see nothing.I thought she was freakin retarded.I would look at my dad and shake my head but he would just play along.

Medicine cabinet looked like a pharmacy.I had no problem saying no to drugs.Wouldnt wanna get religious you know.

After this thread quieted down yesterday, and I had overnight to think about it - I realized there was something else (other than the main subject of "are they real?") bothering me about this.

Now without argument on whether the Bible supports this demons idea or not - I propose that people who believe in this have a theological dilemma -

    * OK - let's say we believe strongly in the omnipotent Jehovah of the WT Society. Let's say we believe strongly that Jesus began his invisible rule in 1914/1918/1919 or whatever they currently think. Let's say that we also believe that miraculous works like tongues, healing, snake charming, etc. were done away with in the first century A.D. Let's say that we believe as well that the society was judged, cleansed, found holy and is now the only source of truth...

Now - why in the world does all of this omnipotent kingdom power put a stop to a few nebulous demons? The reigning King can't even put down Baelzebub and his minions? For that matter, after things were decided by the ransom sacrifice, why didn't these demoniacs just get put down right then? Haven't they caused enough trouble already?

Besides that, OK - if they are allowed to mess around with people like Catholics, Pentecostals, Wiccans, Scientologist, etc...why in the world wouldn't the reigning administration at least maintain adequate security for its own watchtower people. For that matter, wouldn't it put a stop to all the miraculous stigmata, UFO sightings, etc. so as to help keep non-witnesses from being tricked?

To hear all the buzz about these demon attacks - you would think JWs are getting the worst of it out of all the religions. OK, so Satan hates them. But - isn't the reigning Christ and the WT Society powerful enough to hold the line on this? I would think so if we were really living in the reign of Christ.
