So what is a high-control group to do? They have a choice. They can go down kicking and screaming,

What forensic psychologist say about cult leaders like Jim Jones and David Koresh. They are control freaks who will never abdicate control. They will choose death by suicide or a fiery fight to the very end.We can indeed see a comparison with the arrogant watchtower cult.

For 4 years post 1975 fiasco when 1 million walked away (serving Jehovah for a date/'culled out by jehovah') the WT leadership was desperate for credibility and slacked off on their hardline. In 1979 for the first time we were introduced to the new apostate character the new bogeyman scapegoat to suceed the now worn out 'evil slave'.

Right on time we are due for another round of 'purges' they will recruit new suckers who know nothing of the 1914 generations saga.

the fact is that WTS should stand on it's doctrine, prophecy and it's own evidence. if they dont have any doubt in this, then they should not worry about apostates, x-JW's, or the internet websites.....they protest too much, me thinks..... rocky220

Yum. There are lots of little goodies to munch on in this thread...

May we never succumb to the Devil's wiles by abandoning the Christian "path of truth" to follow false teachers who seek to "introduce ruinous ideologies" and try to 'exploit us with well-turned phrases.' - 2 Peter 2:1-3, Byington.

Has not the WTBTS indeed succumbed to the Devils wiles by abandoning the True Christian path of Truth? Aren't the Sheep following false leaders? Whom write and enforce insane deadly policies? All the while, exploiting with well-turned phrases? Not to mention what is done with all that Watchtower Money.

Watchtower STILL actually has the balls to write this crap. It's pure insanity. Insanity IS repeating the same old behavior and expecting different results. When one examines this book publishing empire, is anything ever really different?

Exactly. No more excuses for adult jws to not examine fully, all things Watchtower. It will be exciting to watch the fallout on this one, indeed.

There will be a blitz, a panic cleansing, guilty ones will stop questioning, find their faith again, stop internet searching, and then it will die down and the trickling into sites that encourage debate will start up again/continue.

This is just a pattern of the organization, but it is quickly forgotten or dulled, this technique is not new and members are use to jumping in with 2 feet, or being pushed in, but quietly stepping out when no one is looking or the hoopla dies down. It is bound to happen because they attack the symptoms of a problem, not the problem itself.

    1. Point out massive problem-Blitz the flock-Campaign

    2. Guilt members into compliance

    3. Repeat above every 6 months because it is still a problem.

To all J-dubs who post anywhere on the internet http://www.profindsearch.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 WELCOME TO DAN & TAMARTIM WHO HAVE JUST JOINED THE APOSTATE CLUB!

The following is taken from the Watchtower of January 15, 2006, page 23 under the heading 'Resist the Foremost Apostate':

listen to apostates , read their literature, or examine their Web sites on the internet ? If we love God and the truth, we will not do so. We should not allow apostates into our homes or even greet them, for such actions would make us 'sharers in their wicked works. '(2 John 9-11). May we never succumb to the Devil's wiles by abandoning the Christian "path of truth" to follow false teachers who seek to "introduce ruinous ideologies" and try to 'exploit us with well-turned phrases.' - 2 Peter 2:1-3, Byington.

This is taken from the study article, for the week February 13-19 2006 - Do not Allow Place for the Devil

    How do you feel?

    Where do I begin????

Never more clearly than now, have we seen the Fear---Obligation and Guilt (FOG) implemented in one segment of this article (which I would love to see in its entirety!!) The writers have certainly pulled out all the stops and used both barrels of the shotgun with this one!!!

We see (again) the misused, wrongfully applied and hyped-up definition of the word "apostate".....also (again) stating that those who leave the WTS are false teachers, ones who engage in "wicked works" and have "succumbed to the Devil's wiles" by not believing in all the WTS unfounded claims and faulty doctrines any longer.

They said "We should not allow apostates into our homes or even greet them, for such actions would make us 'sharers in their wicked works." Hmmm.......I wonder what they MEANT here??? The "into our homes" could have a lot of "meanings"...huh? Do WE know any "loyal and obedient JWs who do this by being on discussion boards with "those dreaded apostates" that post on them? Perhaps this isn't what they meant. (yeah....right)

And....also once again....the WTS precariously hoists itself atop the "bar of highest standards" that it proclaims to teach and uphold, while supposedly wearing the cloak of "holiness and truth" as leaders of the six million obedient, loyal and very trusting followers.

Never acknowledging its OWN years of volumes of false information, it cleverly tries to manipulate the reader into the idea that ANY OTHER BELIEFS BUT THEIRS are "ruinous ideologies" ONLY because they contradict what the WTS itself wants the JWs to believe. The added emphasis of "If we love God and the truth, we will not do so"....has them believing that NOT following THEM is likened to abandoning God and truth.....which is patently FALSE.

Do you SEE where this not-so-subtle point (that WE ARE RIGHT AND ALL OTHERS ARE WRONG---and listening to anyone BUT US will lead you down the wrong path) is thus emphasized?....and that "God" will thus be "displeased" with any other choice of religion?

This will be "studied" by all JWs as a group which will again reinforce the WTS' man-made claims and beliefs of being the ONLY "right" religion....of which there is NO valid proof except......for what THEY print!

The WTS reminds me of slimy fish that are floundering in stagnant waters, grasping hopefully for someone to toss out a life-vest but only finding a slippery rock to hold on to for a short time until the next tide comes along to knock them into the water once again.

Makes you wonder what else they've got up their sleeves as "threats" to the sheep? Much more "culling and lopping off" will be the death of them....hehehehe....

There will be a blitz, a panic cleansing, guilty ones will stop questioning, find their faith again, stop internet searching,

I wonder if we'll ever see the day when the society, in future versions of the Watchtower CD-ROM, will require mandatory registration and activation as some software packages do. It might even include a spyware component that could report a person's internet browsing habits back to the society.
