Interesting admission by Watchtower Elder starting 24:52

"... in our library here, ah, we have a library that's full of books that are not Watchtower publications, and we find ourselves having to update those because even people who are brilliant in their study of the original Greek and the original Hebrew, they're coming to new conclusions about things because of their ongoing research, and we don't fault them for that. That's just what life is about. It's funny that people, um, fault the Watchtower for making adjustments."

    • Organization has library full of non-Watchtower publications ... that they keep updated.
    • These publications are by people who are brilliant in their study.
    • Watchtower does not fault them for making adjustments.

... so, Watchtower reads the religious writings of these brilliant non-witness authors, doesn't fault them for making adjustments in their understanding as the brilliant non-Witnesses progress in their understanding of original Greek and Hebrew.

Maybe I am reading too much into this, but in my opinion, this is an amazing admission.

Funny that people fault the Watchtower, God's channel of communication, God's only organization, for making adjustments .... we don't fault false religionists who are part of Satan's system for making changes and we even keep our library that is full of their books udated.

Very interesting but he went round and round and never acknowledge the problem with that one question. They sure are trained well, reminds me of a politician with all of their double talk!

@Mindnumbed - I noticed that point too. Ray Franz talks about how much the writing dept used other Christian commentaries in CoC also I believe.

And no wonder they need these scholarly works since they do not have a single person at Bethel that knows Biblical Hebrew or Greek!

He worships the Organization, whether he realizes it or not. He will die for it, live for it, and change his beliefs at the drop of a hat for it! If next year, nu-light revealed that the FDS is a class once again, or that blood fractions are banned again, he would consider that the " truth." He would never speak against the organization. We are not baptized and dedicated to an organization, but to go against the Organization is to go against God. You cannot reason with unreasonable people.

The bottom line is...if I disagree with these brilliant Hebrew and Greek scholars...I won’t be shunned. But if I disagree with the Watchtower, I will be shunned and be judged worthy of death. The fault is not that the Watchtower is wrong, or adjusts its teaching, but that an individual has to accept whatever the current teaching is, or lose all their friends and family.

I can't wait to hear this call. Good work, brothers!
