This was sent to me when I stopped attending meetings after the "Sunday' show went to air in Australia regarding sexual abuse of children in the WT organisation, of which one of my children was victim of. The bold print is my added comment.
So, how was the rest of your day yesterday? I'm imagining it was not
good. I'm sorry you had to see that but of course satan will use
everything in his power to destroy our faith in the organization and in
turn Jehovah. (note how the organization comes before god?)
I'm not going to discuss it with you because I've taped it
and last night I went to XXXXXX (an elder)and talked to him at length about
the organizations stand (not god's) on child abuse. He was adamant that they by no
means try to cover it up although he does accept the fact that some elders
have stuffed up big time and the victims shown on Sun. morning were
certainly not lying about their experiences. He hadn't seen it and when I
told him I'd taped it and brought it for him to see, he was pleased. I
don't think many got to see it since it was right when the meeting
started.
The organization has sent a letter to all congregations addressing the
issue of child abuse. it was read on the tues. nite right after the
convention and the reason I chose (elder)XXXXX to talk to is because he's
the (elder's position) XXXXX and I thought he had the letter since I wasn't there that
tuesday night and I wanted to read the letter. He told me that it was
going to be read again for the benefit of those who missed the meeting on
tuesday before. He told us that we are going to be advised to write down
the scriptures used on how and why we view child abuse also the
explanations of those scriptures. He said, if I had any concerns after
the letter was read to come straight to him and ask.
I was horrified to see that show and I wished I hadn't but on the other
hand, I think It was good that I did cause now i'm prepared for when
people may bring it up in the field service....(not because she now knows what really goes on in the borg) my mother was horrified.
she had no idea that it was such an issue in the organization and she's
very interested in what the letter has to say, I think it's being read
twice in all congregations so it gets heard by all - or at least most. Of
course anyone who wants to read it can.
I'm sorry you've been so affected by all this and I wish there is
something I can do, but obviously there isn't. I can't seem to encourage
you or comfort you. I'm not affected by it like some are and it is not an
issue for me and I don't want to make it one.(bury the head in the sand) I don't want to dwell on
how bad an issue it might be in the organization because while I believe
it is a big issue, I have full faith in the brothers and in Jesus (the brothers before Jesus)that
they will deal with it in the best way possible.
I'm telling you this because I know you will want to talk about the show
and I don't. (good friend and comfortor)You've got XXXXX for that and i'm glad. I'm sorry if this
upsets you, but I have to maintain my faith at all costs and (even lying to herself) dwelling on
these things and talking about how bad they are is not helping me although
by no means do I have my head in the sand....and you know many do. We
have completely different ideas on how it's being dealt with (yeh, because it wasn't her kid that got abused and her being D/F)and what the
outcome may be in Jehovah's organization.
I'm more than happy though to tell you what (elder)XXXX said and if you don't
go to the meeting on tuesday night, I'll fill you in if you like.
I'm afraid that this is going to destroy you alltogether, I can imagine
after seeing something like what you saw on Sun. morning, you'd have
trouble looking the organization in the face again...remember though, at
least 2 of the brothers were apostate and while much of it may have been
true there is no where else to go in this world. We are very close to the
end and we can only expect life to become almost unbearable at some stage.(the borg is making life unbearable, not life itself) Did you see XXXX and XXXX on the show? They were in front of the
"congregation" singing. They obviously think Jehovah's organization isn't
the right one but they are going to get a huge shock when babylon the
great falls and they realize they've made a terrible mistake.
One God, One Faith, One Babtism. Don't let this destroy you and your
family XXXX, satan is already laughing at you because you are struggling
so much now, this is just another push to get rid of you altogether.You know I love you very much (the pedophile was laughing at us, not satan) and as I said, I wish I had the wisdom of
XXXXX to help you through this. As a friend and a sister though
let me just say please..do not give up.
