I heard on TV this morning that a few will protest at our assembly which will be held in Quebec city Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I heard that someone who lost a family member due to blood policy will protest in front of where the assembly will be held....

I'll try to find a link to this story..

This one is in French, but it is posted by the protest organizer on his site:

June 29 at Quebec City, I am organizing a protest. We will be some who are present. We will begin at 7:30 am in front of the Colisé Pepsi. The reason for the protest is the beginning of the convention of Jehovah's Witnesses on that date.

Former Jehovah's Witnesses who are present will be masked. The reason for this is that the majority of ex-Witnesses fear reprisals from their families. Therefore to protect their anonymity, their faces will be covered.

For those who wish to join, you are welcome. We will be in front of the Colisé until the end of their midday break.

Thanks for the link and story Scully.

I just caught a fraction of the news on TV this morning, so I wasn't sure what it was all about.

Guess there will be pictures and news tomorrow in the news paper

Do these protests do any good? Most JW's view apoatates as crazy and dangerous, doesn't this type of behaviour re-inforce their perception?

The public in general might see this as an internal problem, thus things aren't going as well as they say in their organization.

My wife and I we helped enormously by a protestor. For years there was a fellow around here that set up shop outside the DC's. He had a big banner with a phone number on it. We saw him at the Tacoma Dome in the summer of 1988. My wife wrote down the number but we didn't have the nerve to call him. A few months later we did.

Turns out he's the pastor of a local church and he ran a support group for xjw's and the family's of jw's. We got a lot of help from them.

There may be others out there that will start thinking, especially young ones.
