Page 14 of the “Awake!” of June 2012 cites Ephraim Stern.

His book, “Archaeology of the Land of the Bible: The Assyrian, Babylonian, and Persian Periods (732-332 B.C.E.), Vol. II” shows that his position is totally at odds with the position held by “Awake!”.

    Thank you Doug!

It's great you've included the sections in Stern's discussion describing the towns that continued to be populated throughout the 6th Century BCE.

Does Ephraim Stern know of this misrepresentation of his work by "Awake" ?

If 607 falls, then 1914 falls, then 1975 falls, then the Generation of 1914 falls, the overlapping Generation falls . . . .

Jehovah better do a better job getting the Governing Body its message. Jehovah has some dimwits for Governing Body people. The GB can't even read another man's book and quote it right.

    Thanks Doug.

It is not a matter of not being able to read it right, they must have read the rest of what he wrote, and cynically they "quote mine" to make it sound as though years of research by an expert in the field supports their crazy ideas.

Prof.Stern clearly shows that the land, especially "Benjamin" was far from desolate, destroyed cities were left thus, burt others survived and functioned, very far from the WT's false history.

It is simply disgustingly dishonest use of other peoples work.

If anyone knows how to contact him, or perhaps his publisher, perhaps they could alert them to this travesty.
