For anyone that has not been to www.ted.com than I strongly recommend it. There is the most amazing range of information regarding science, religion, medicine and technology, and provides a very positive view of what the world will be like in the future.

One talk I just watched was http://www.ted.com/talks/what_we_learned_from_5_million_books.html, which discusses a new ability from goole at http://books.google.com/ngrams to search on the change in how regularly words appear in book.

I thought an interesting comparison would be whether the word Jehovah or Yahweh is more common. In the following graph it shows a huge rise in the term Yahweh and a fall in the term Jehovah over the last few decades. It appears that around the time of Russell there was a lot of talk about Jehovah, but now it is fading into obscurity.

There is limitations to the data, without knowing which books are included. Presently google has not included newspapers, etc either.

However, it does highlight that despite the Watchtower's best efforts, Jehovah is fairly unknown, and particularly in academic circles that are most likely to be publishing on the topic, Yahweh is the common term used. This diminishes the argument that though incorrect, Jehovah should be used in preference to Yahweh, as it is the better known form of God's name.

Interesting how Jehovah had it's highest peak in recent times around what apears to be 1975. After that it dropped off and leveled out, whereas Yahweh has continued increasing.

On another note, when people think of the name of Jehovah, they think of all of us crazy ass Jehovah's Witnesses and all the strange nonsensible things we believe in and do.

How is Jehovah,, besides what the WT tries to stuff through our necks by adding it to the bible, let's see another take on it,,

I read Jehovah is a God of the Annunaki that came to earth and took it captive. These has been documented in the Sumerian Tablets, some bible verses support these claims. He is part of an ET entity inthe 6th Dimension,, basically a God of war and materialism, rules by fear, greed. I am sure you have read the old testament about this Jealous God, it's a horror in print,, kill here , take there women for yourselves,, When he came he demanded to be called God and people should start worshipping him and no one else. He is a logo, not a creator of this universe. There is a higher source than that. Just like most ET's he can materialize and he was able to do that back in the old testament. He loves blood sacrifices (think of 9-11), loves the idea of choosing his annointed people,,, called divide and conquer, fear, hate, very egoistic,,,, sounds to me,,, that's the current system we live right now,, The more we think we are different the more we are easily manipulated and controlled. Here's an interesting video/article. (Remember Jesus mentioned that his father is not part of this world? Because he knows who rules it,,, even today. But religions will fall when this is revealed to us. 2012 will be the best year, so hold on it will be one hell of a rollercoster ride. We chose to be here,, to help earth and ourselves ascend to higher dimensions,,, I have seen other videos claiming the same concept,,, I'll look for it and post it later.

Alexander Romanov, a self-proclaimed member of the Illuminati, was interviewed by Benjamin Fulford in a video released on January 5, 2012.

Illuminati Disclosure – Christian, Jewish and Muslim God is ‘Satan’

Romanov revealed a 14,000 year old Illuminati secret:

“The Abrahamic God, the God of the Jews, the God of the Christians and the God of the Muslims…Allah, God and Yahweh, through their three books, the Torah, the Bible and the Koran…that God is not God at all. Instead, that God is actually Satan. That is shown in my book, “666” and mathematically proven in my book, “The 6th Dimension”. The Koran, the Bible and the Torah is nothing more than lies, ancient lies and these people who believe in these books from 2,000 years ago are deluded and brainwashed and manipulated. For the purpose of being controlled by the Old World Order. “

It is up to the viewer to use his or her own discernment over the validity of Romanov’s statement.

I think the Yahweh usage will continue to be in the ascendant, as it is mainly academics who will use a name for god,and they are not likely to use Jehovah and perhaps give the impression that they know as little about the subject as do JW's

I would imagine the Hebrew God was relatively unknown by any name in most of the ancient world. He was a tribal god in their eyes.

There is simply no written evidence of any significant use of the name "Jehovah" or even YHWH outside of "sacred" texts, except perhaps in the occult circles. :-))

Looks like when the wits where at one of their nuttiest campaigns is when Jehovah's name got more attention. Negative attention. It's kinda a shame that when people hear that name, all they can think of are those nutty door knockers

    Testing new browser....testing...

    WOW! Googlechrome is incredibly fast!

Jehovah's Witnesses have created their own self-fulfilling myth.

Then, they promote the myth so that everybody else will believe it. Then, they can quote the people they have influenced as Sources!

There seems to be an explosion of popular books making academic works accessible. Jehovah is a mistake from the Middle Ages. It is beyond any doubt that YHWH is correct. Personally, the God we conceive of today sounds petty by having a name. Jah, YHWH, Ralph, Martin -these names seem to take away from the mystery of God.
