It's 40 years since Charles Manson's 'Family' committed the brutal murders of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six others in a two-night rampage in LA in August 1969. Manson is a fascinating docu-drama that takes viewers deep inside a twisted world of hate, fear and mind control. It shows how one man transformed a harmless group of hippies into a gang of sadistic murderers. The program also features the first ever in-depth interview with the Family's so-called "lookout" Linda Kasabian.

You should make sure your Dubs just happen to watch this. Grab it on your PVR/whatever.

If this is the doco I have seen before, Linda uses phrases that I have heard my own Dubs using to justify their allegiance to the Watchtower.

I have watched a few documentaries on cults and they are always eerily similar to JWs in the expressions used and devotion shown. Yet as a convicted JW I never seemed to notice. It is only when you are ready to leave they the similarities really hit you.

I've seen another Doco which had Manson in it along with other cults (Jonestown etc..) absolutely shocking!

Get cunning.

To get the most out of something like this, you need to watch the doco before your Dub sees it, then manipulate them into saying something that you know one of the cult members is going to parrot.

Another good trick is to get them to defend a doctrine just before they pick up their noo lite from the magazine counter.

This just caught my eye as I was looking up info on Mackenzie Phillips and her family. Machenzie's parents were Singers of "Mama's and Papa's". She was on a reality show that was doing a follow up on those that went through rehab for addictions. She was telling the stories of her past addictions and her father John Phillips (incest). I was surprised to see a link between John Phillips and Sharon Tate..it is like a spider web of connections between Sharon and other famous people. John had stated in an interview that he was supposed to go to Sharon's house the night of the murder but decided not to. He was so glad he didn't.
