Hello, Thank you for considering my request and forwarding it as you see appropriate. I am researching the persecution in the mid-1930's of peace loving Christian groups, such as the Jehovah Witnesses. I have been led to believe that an incident occurred in a church in Gotha, Germany in which a peace-loving young man, possibly a Jehovah Witness, was shot and killed by Nazi authorities, possibly in the context of the young man seeking asylum in the church. The alleged incident might have occurred in late August or early September, 1935, in a church possibly the Margarethekirche in Gotha. The alleged incident was witnessed by many people and it traumatized the community. Any information you might have concerning this or similar events would be deeply appreciated. Sincerely yours, Paul Eagle [email protected]
