  Does Bruce Jenner (Caitlyn) qualify for Baptism?

  im not sure if bruce had a sex operation but lets say someone did have a sex operation and then studied with the witnesses and wanted to get baptized, would he qualify in todays jw world?

  could he have privileges?

  the bible says the past cant be held against you, once you accept the truth.

  Amateurs Built the Ark

  are you familiar with the motto "professionals built the titanic amateurs built the ark?".

  i find it somewhat annoying.

  i've been looking for a good analogy like amelia earhart was a professional pilot dorothy was just a girl from kansas but she got back home..

  an elderly sister passed away recently.

  family came to her memorial service from all over the country.

  some of them, including grown-up, disfellowshipped children of hers, also came.

  I have got to say one good thing for the congregations I am stuck around. So far when it has come to this issue, it has been like a short term pass has given. We had three sudden deaths in a very short time just a year or so back. At all three after event's, there were a number of df'ed family and friends there, and most, inculding the elders spoke to them, with compassion and kindness. The effects were positive as far as jw land was concerned, at least 2 have been reinstated since. If they had been kucked in the guts one more time, I am pretty sure, they would have never gotten them back.

  This from a hanging congragation, that is know for its very harsh treatment and df'ing at the dropping of a hat!

  WT is shorting literature orders by congregation with a problem contributing enough for literature $3500 just for mags

  at our meeting last night there was a talk about having run out of magazines for the last three months.

  it's expected this will continue to happen.

  the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.

  If they are short shipping mag's and other items, and I don't doubt it at all! No one packing the mag's would know, the packing list are provided with the amounts listed for each item! I used to be a binder, trimmer $ and mailing line operation tech, back in the mid 70's, all of our factory was state of the art equipment for the day. Our mailing equal has the packing list programed into it, and the mags were counted out and strapped without anyone touching them, until they were stacked off at the end of the line!

  Back then, I could see where the mags were heading in abvance, I kept little notes with my info and a hello note on it, with stuff going to bethell was coming, I would put my notes in them. I still have a few good friends from those notes! 2 of the are like me, stuck in, but out mentally!

  i see an attitude among some people here which is not very helpful.

  i can understand it, but still, it's not constructive or helpful.. if you condemn the society for not changing, but then you also condemn them when they do change in a positive way, what incentive or motive does that provide for the people at the society to ever want to change for the better?.

  also, what does that attitude look like to current witnesses who are having doubts?.

  I want all my wasted life back! I want the education, that I wasn't allowed to have, so I could have had a good job, and a landing pad, when I retire, instead of wondering, in the shap I find myself in, how am I going to make it another 11 years, before SS will kick in! I already know the answer, I am losing the feelings in both feet and legs! None if this would have been a problem, had it nit been for the jw world!

  if you were a young brother in the late 60's you then remember the burden of the draft and the prospect of going to jail for refusing on religious grounds to be called up.

  in those days we were taught that to do community service was conscientiously the same as joining the military and so we were told to refuse such exemptions.

  Just like the years of buildup to 1975, and all the stuff pointing to it, and the outright naming of 75, then a few years later, it was jyst overzealous brothers picking up on stuff, and running wild with it! It surely never was because of anything the gb or borg, said or did!

  It ended a year before, I came of age! But I had been auxiliary pioneering almost nonstop for two years, and quit school, and started regular pioneering a couple of months before it ended! I believed all of it, hook line & sinker!

  I had 2 big brothers that came of age in the heat of the war, one if them was drafted, but flunked the eye tests, and all was well! The older one started pioneering a few months before the draft age, and worried nonstop all the time! He would not take time just to have fun, studied all the time, wanting to be sure and have everything just right if he got called! He never did!

  I so remember how worried they were, and how it effected me as my time got ever closer!

  I remember the change when it came about in the 90's, thinking about how many friends I knew that had a black mark on their records, that had caused them problems for years, and unless they had money to burn, would always have that mark!

  Looking back, it blows my mind, that it took so long, and so much to wake me up!
