My dad spent most of WWII hiden in the jungles of the Philpines. Three times he was caught, the first time was by two men scout teams, the third time by a small company of groups. After he died, his sister told me of his experience in WWII. Some how he killed the first two groups that caught him, and escaped from the larger one. He was near death as the US army retook the Island's. He spents months in the hospital before being shipped back to the states. My mom met him at the train station. (Until the army found him, he was listed as MIA, likely dead) When he was last home he was 6' 175 pounds, full head of hair. When the army found him, he weight 75 pounds. When he got off the train, he was 95 pounds, bald, and toothless. My mom was looking for the man that had left. He walked up to her, and said, You don't know me, do you! !

Why only 7 or 8 members on the Governing Body?
by Gilgamesh innow and then someone hears a rumor that the gb might go with 12 members instead of the 8 (or now 7) they currently have.
the value of 12 is understandable, which might even drive the rumors every time they plan to add another 4 or 5 new persons to the gb helpers list.
of course, a rumor that steals their thunder may also promote a delay, even if true.. i'm sure this quote from the watchtower was previously commented upon as a good explanation for the watch tower's best reason to leave the number at 7 or 8:.

It just like a JC vote, if it 2 to 1, and they can't get past it, they do what ever had the winning vote, and claim they were in total agreement!
The GBodies would never get anything done if it had to always be 200%!

How many members left the Watchtower because of all the Hatred and Anti-christian behavior? Were you exposed to betrayal, lies and slander against your family?
by PokerPlayerPhil ini am trying to wrap my head around 2014 and all the evil we experienced while the elders and overseer said "wait on jehovah because that's what all the true believers do!
" and i explained it's too painful to see the wicked people who brought my family suffering giving talks and providing other witness families with instruction we are to use when the end comes.
why are the quite members those who get treated like trash while members who call down evil upon the organization get everything they want so they will keep their mouths shut?.

They did not want me to tell anyone that I had indeed been dfed wrongly, and that they had thought they what had happened, and needed no other information! If it got out that they had made that big of a mistake in my case, maybe they had in others as well?
Well at least it opened my eyes to the truth!

Reports of lower memorial attendance
by thedepressedsoul ini have heard a lot of reports from kingdom halls in the area that there was less than last year, for both time slots.. we had the first time slot and we were down 50+/- compared to last year.
last year we had the lobby full of people standing and this year we had empty seats and no one standing.
we ran out of parking last year and this year we made it.. like i said i am hearing quite a few reports of this from halls in our area.however, somehow the number seem to inch up every year.

Just think how much money the sheeple spend on the invite work, for what, 2 or 3 people, to show up! Hell it's just the sheeples money, they don't need it! -

Tried and convicted, without being told, I was in a JC meeting, dfed for over a year. Years later I was informed of what I was accused of. When I said no I wasn't told, they then said they both informed me, and that I confessed! All lies, if they had informed me, one quick phone call would have cleared up everything! It still took months to get everything sort of fixed. With the understanding, that I could not say a word about it to anyone!
Talk about eye opening!

It takes 2/3 to vote for something for it to pass. So I can just see them pushing there favorite's and not being able to get many things done! -

Ecclesiasticus
by berrygerry inthought this quote (ecclesiasticus 37:14) from another thread deserved it's own.. finally, stick to the advice your own heart gives you,.
no one can be truer to you than that;.

I had a friend, that's been dead for a number of years now. He quit school in the 6th. His family lived a short walk to one of the big Collage's in LA. He spent every minute he could studying in the collage library. At 19 he went to work at JPL. In a short time they knew he was a really smart man. His understanding of math & science were over the top! In no time he was set up with his own lab and staff. Hi tech fuels that were used in the Apollo missions were his, along with the shuttle fuels. He received Phd's from MIT, U Alabama, UCLA, without ever taking a class. He moved to All in the mid 70's, and worked for NASA, at the Red Stone Arsenal. He was just unbelievably smart!
Education, is more than going to a higher school, and a sheep skin! I know people with 4 to 8 year degree's, that work the counters at McDonald's, because they do not have what it takes, to use what they learned!
Everyone has natural abilities both in learning and understanding! I worked with mechanical engineer's for a few years, one a Mr Bill Fortman, had only a high school education, yet he had a natural mechanical understanding, the others could never match. No amount of education can teach what he had!
I am nobody, under pressure from the elders, I quit school in the 9th, to pionner. Right after that my dad order me back to school, or get out. I was hardly 15. I left. Pioneered, worked, and lived in a boarding house until I was 18. I got a real job. One day they started giving everyone assessment test. Then based on the results gave more specialized test. Mine was Mechanical. In a test that was to take an hour, I finished it in 25 minutes. I scored 99%. Well I was accused of cheating, for no one had ever taken this test in less than 50 minutes, and I was told no one had ever scored over 97%. Well they gave me a much newer test, with three people watching. It too was an hour test. I finished it in 46 minutes! And scored 99%! The next week I was sent to Chicago for training, under Bill Fortman. Major pay increase, and a great job. Sadly over time the elders got to me, for all though I made moist meetings, and fs, it wasn't good enough, I bought into the lie's about 75, and quit the best job I ever had. I would be retired now, and in much better shape!
I wasted my real gift for nothing, broken, used up and crushed. In pretty bad shape physically, and i see no real way forward!

It's all to get the crowd, a since of awa and extra respect for those that do!
A long time friend of mine started pertaking back in 70. I was just 12 at the time.but some years later I ask him how he knew, and he told me a lot of stuff, seemed to make sense. Well he stopped a few years ago!
