  Child abuse a sin not a crime to JW's

  this australian investigation is astounding to watch.. the elders clearly don't see child abuse as criminal, if a jw confessed to murder, the police would immediately be called.

  yet child rape is a spiritual issue..... ridiculous.. this is what happens when 7 window cleaners lead a bunch of dangerously loyal, ignorant middle aged men ...... in managing 7 million people..

  D. Ali Answer. We would encourage the person to do that.

  THE CHAIR: Q. Would you do it yourself?
  

  D. Ali A. No. I would try very hard not to - not that I would try very hard not to, but I would encourage the person continually to do that. That's a decision they need to make.

  THE CHAIR: Q. What if the person wasn't prepared to go to the police, but they told you that they saw the killing happen - what would you do?
  

  D. Ali A. Am I being asked on the present day circumstances?

  THE CHAIR: Q. Yes.
  

  D. Ali A. Yes. I would take the action of ringing the branch and getting some legal advice on that.

  THE CHAIR: Q. You are living in Queensland, aren't you?
  

  D. Ali A. Yes.

  THE CHAIR: Q. Do you have any knowledge of the law or legal obligations to report knowledge of crimes at all?
  

  D. Ali A. Not - not really, no.

How can we ignore it?
  

  So the bible doen't speak about "serious sin" in this rule:

  (Deuteronomy 19:15) . . .No single witness may convict another for any error or any sin that he may commit. On the testimony of two witnesses or on the testimony of three witnesses the matter should be established.

  But he does not speak about this divine law (Why god gave this law? Does he know, that a rape mostly has no second witness?):

  (Deuteronomy 22:25-27) 25 “If, however, it is in the field that the man found the girl who was engaged, and the man grabbed hold of her and lay down with her, the man who lay down with her must also die by himself, 26 and to the girl you must do nothing. The girl has no sin deserving of death, because just as when a man rises up against his fellowman and indeed murders him, even a soul, so it is with this case. 27 For it was in the field that he found her. The girl who was engaged screamed, but there was no one to rescue her.

  A good evidence here, that this elder don't follow the bible. He follows man made rules.

  Could this news cause a new revolt of members taking the lead like that which happened after the 1975 fiasco?

  we know that after the 1975 fiasco there were some revolts and disappointments in the brotherhood, which finally caused the removal of raymond franz and overseers like james penton, and so on.

  so, may be these news could cause the revolt of some members in the leadership.

  any thoughts?

  i have searched high and low, and for some reason, it is as if it does not exist.. i'm catholic, but for research purposes and as a courtesy to jws, i've put the 1984 and the 2013 versions in a database format for e-sword (e-sword.net).

  you can find the full transcripts of each day there as pdf.. but also the evidence list is very interresting.
