This is SO true!
to quote george bush:
we must collectively get after those that, kill, in the name of, i dunno, some kind of false religion .
there i was sitting around the foriegn table, er, the er, table of foriegn leaders .

i guess i'm having a minimus moment, but two threads today got me thinking.
our dear caspian apparently has some crazy jw sister (i.e.
spiritual sister, not blood relation) that came looking for him today.
1. Do we delete the user? Pondering now..........no we don't delete them
2. Do we try to reason with such a person and get them to stay here? I don't think reasoning will work, but mentioning it to someone in the Cong. would always be 'nice' heehhe OR maybe they will wise up?!
3. What is to be lost or gained by either course of action? Personal satisfaction of either tattling or saving them from the borg.
The only way I really see it is this is Simon's World ... we're all just a bunch of satellites .
this is pretty cool... a fairly accurate of the jws from a catholic newspaper with a notable exception about the baptism.
highlighting mine.. http://www.catholicherald.com/saunders/03ws/ws030925.htm.
jehovah witnesses.
This was GREAT! I really think more clergy members (Catholic and non) should know as much as they can about JW's and teach it to their congergations. As a teen, I was basically told 'they're just like us, but got door to door." Before that, in 5th Grade there was a yough girl who didn't recite the Pledge and I asked my Mom about it and she just said it was against her religion. I always felt bad for her, not only was she the only JW in the room, but was one of a handful of African-American children in the school (my sister was another) - whitebread USA.
I REALLY hated that part of my life...........
hi... i haven't been in the internet in such a long time, i just wanted to say thank you sooo much for your support on the recent events on my lawsuit.. i wanted to tell those who are interested that it is being appealed and it will take about a year for it to go to the apellet court.
i must admit when i heard the news it was really disappointing, but it made me feel a little better knowing that it was over a statue of limitations and not because they tried to say it never happened.
i think you all might find this a little funny, a few months back my lawyers had a deposition with the elders involved in the congregation and i was able to attend, one elder kept on saying that he just followed watchtower policy, he also admitted that the two eye witness policy is true, he said that he was no longer an elder and said it was because he wanted to spend more time with his family but is still a jw (of course).
Erica - I just wanted you to know I think you're very brave to go through with all this crap.
two high ranking watchtower officials admit to quite a lot in these official committee hansard documents.
if you are one of jehovah's witnesses, perhaps you would like to read how two senators take the watchtower officials apart piece by piece.
especially on the blood issue, several times the watchtower officials walk right into a wall.. the watchtower officials admit that the tax imposed by france could cripple the entire organization.
Senator HARRADINE?Do you see the benefit in the ecumenical movement amongst
Christians to finally become totally united or not?
Mr MacLean? We do not think that will be of benefit because, from our viewpoint, so
many of those that are involved in that type of thing are not particularly involved in the Bible teaching.
No S*#`
Great reading, one voice, one 'mind', I can almost see my parents using the blood issue with me right now. My favs were this one and the Jewish-Blood laws. CLASSIC!
i just wanted to introduce myself and share my verbose story.
my name is kyria, i'm 29 years old, originally from the pawtucket/lincoln rhode island congregation in the states.
i found this board yesterday, and am completely blown away by what an amazing place it is.
Kyria - Hi there and welcome to the Board! I really think you'll like it!
i would love to travel to europe some day.
i have worked with and been friends with many from europe, asia, south america, africa and the middle east for the last 25 years.
of all these people only the europeans have ever suggested that they can pick an american out of a crowd ... they seem to know us no matter how much we may share the same ethnic background.. i have asked europeans and others may times just how it is they can spot an american, even when we have not spoken.
Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I like the diet idea! :)
We're on a mission from GOD
and the Penguin?
"last days?
" poor bastard is gonna live forever i guess.
i wonder if someone told him that his death is "coming soon" or that "some people here will live to see my kingdom his death.
SFJim - You're right! But think about it, people have been making alter boy jokes WAY before this Pope came to be. There's no excuse for the amount of abuse & cover ups the Church has been involved in, and maybe he did have something to do with it and of course that's wrong. HEY maybe he did die years ago and they have been doing a "Weekend at Bernies" thing! I do believe we are all judged at the end.

He's held this position since 1978!
