  up here, in the northern plains, we just recovered from a historic event--- may i even say a "weather event" of "biblical proportions" with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 mph that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed all roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.. .

  Blondie, re: those links, scary stuff! I'm at risk for the clots, too, but would rather not think about that!

  Ferret, yes, I've had them in both legs at the same time, once even traveling up into that big ole butt muscle. I was at the movies with my son, sitting in the middle of the row, not knowing what on earth I was going to do. Talk about panic!

  Blondie's link says a strong cramp can break a bone!

  Wow, what an experience. When I first started having these, I wanted to call 911; I was just panicked they're so painful and imobilizing. I'll print out your message and take it with me to my next appointment.

  Never heard of the injections! But as a last resort... My doctors have never seemed concerned and really don't address it. I should not be surprised that they dont have all the information but you think they'd research it!

  Thanks for all the suggestions. I've tried the calcium, magnesium, potassium suppliments in every combination and they didn't help. That's what's so puzzling and frustrating. Blondie, even at this hour the hot dog looks great! These do feel different from the charlie horses I used to get in my legs, they're really sharp and intense. Haven't checked your links yet, but I'm about to. I've finally gotten to the point I can massage, or really rub them, the muscles are cramped so hard they feel like another bone sometimes. One of the things that kind of frightens me is that the heart is a muscle; has anyone ever heard of a connection?

  Thank you, What A Coincidence. I've never heard of that. I just hobbled off to the kitchen for a big spoonful of mustard; good thing I like it. Itll be amazing if this works; I thought I'd tried everything.

They're excruciating. They're worse if I over eat or don't eat enough. I've only met a couple people that have an idea what this is like. Well, at least I can get caught up on what's going on here at JWD!
